3 INSTRUCTION
3.1 Acceptable Laser Tracker Accuracy is: 3.1.1 Required Linear Accuracy is per Table I. Distance from Tracker Tolerance 3.5 meters (approx 11.5 ft) +/- .002 7.0 meters (approx 23 ft) +/- .004 9.0 meters (approx 29.5 ft) +/- .005 3.1.2 IFM accuracy is within .0004 when checked per manufacturer instructions. 3.1.3 Two face accuracy is within .0026 decimal degrees both vertical and horizontal. 3.1.4 Target reflector accuracy is within .001 3.1.5 Target adapter accuracy is within .002 per Figure 1-3 3.1.6 Evaluate the Laser Tracker if it exceeds the specified limit accordance with MQ-04-36-00-00. 3.2 Laser Tracker calibration interval. 3.2.1 Tracker scale bar calibration 12 months. 3.2.2 IFM check weekly. If four consecutive tests pass without adjustment, the frequency can be reduced to monthly. If a test does not pass or if an adjustment is made, increase frequency back to weekly. 3.2.3 Two-Face check is performed daily. 3.2.4 Target reflectors and Target adapters shall be calibrated annually. 3.3 Materials used in the calibration process include: 3.3.1 Reflector 3.3.2 Lint-free cloth. 3.3.3 70% isopropyl alcohol. 3.4.3 Weekly Calibration (IFM check) 3.4.3.1 The IFM check shall be performed in accordance with manufacturers instructions. Ensure the deviation is less than .0004 3.4.4 Daily Calibration steps (Two-Face Check) 3.4.4.1 Check two face alignment IAW manufacturer instructions 3.4.4.2 Ensure the deviation less than 0.0026 decimal degrees in horizontal and vertical angles. 3.4.5 Target reflectors shall be calibrated per the following: 3.4.5.1 Place the reflector in its LTD 500 home location; 3.4.5.2 Record a single point measurement using SA Software; 3.4.5.3 Rotate the reflector approximately 45 degrees; 3.4.5.4 Repeat steps 2 and 3 until at least eight points have been taken (360 degrees); 3.4.5.5 Analyze the data for the maximum distance between points; 3.4.5.6 Ensure the value in step 5 is less than .001 inch; 3.4.5.7 Record the date, time, temperature, humidity, reflector ID, and distance in the IFM log. 3.4.6 Target adapters shall be calibrated IAW figures 1 through 3.
Figure 3 Tooling Ball 3.5 Records 3.5.1 Annual test report shall be per laser tracker calibration form MQ 04-36-34-01 and recorded in calibration database 3.5.2 Daily and weekly calibrations shall be recorded on a log. I:/laser tracker/Laser Tracker Calibration. 3.5.3 Target reflectors and target adapters shall be recorded in calibration database and subject to periodic recall. 3.6 Non-Conforming Material - In the event that the laser tracker does not conform to any of the requirements stated herein, notify the Calibration technician and perform a previous calibration assessment.
