Web. 12 Jan. 2012 This source contained vital information on the huge leap from gas lights to electric lights. Edison proposed to New York Officials that he could light fifty one blocks of lower Manhattan and supply enough power to light eight-thousand, four-hundred lamps. His first generator could only put out enough power for eight hundred bulbs. After fourteen months he was capable of supplying enough power for twelve-thousand, seven-hundred and thirty-two bulbs. I chose this source because it shows the amazing work of an inventor helping the United States move from a time period where almost everything ran on gas to the beginning of a time period where electricity aids in how we do everything in our lives. It also had beneficial facts that other websites overlooked. I also chose this website because it is the website of a magazine and I knew I could trust the information I recorded for my project. One of the greatest inventors in the history of electricity was Thomas Edison who invented the light bulb. George Simon Ohm invented Ohms law which states that resistance equals the ratio of the potential difference to current. I chose this source for my research because it contained a lot of information on key characters in the history of electricity and revolutionizing the way we use it in our lives. Michael Faraday invented electromagnetic induction. George Westinghouse was given the contract to build the first hydroelectric generator at Niagara Falls and he invented the first air brake for a train and founded the air brake company in 1869. The unit of sound called the decibel was named after Alexander Graham Bell who was interested in sound and deafness. I chose this source because it contained information on the inventors in the history of electricity who I had never heard about. The source also contained the names of inventors in history who played great roles in the history of electricity. It also contained information on inventors who were not from the United States which shows that we are not the only brainy people in the world.

This source was packed full of facts beneficial to my project. I learned many things about Thomas Edison such as, Thomas Edison was interested in ore-milling and cement. I chose this source for many reasons. I knew that the source was a source that I could trust because it was from the library of congress. I also learned a lot of information from it. This would be vital to my research, because it shows that electricity also evolved in other countries around the world. I chose this source because it had tons of dates for events dealing with electricity. It was also crawling with facts about electricity that I didnt even know about. They were beneficial to my project because the facts were interesting and played major roles in revolutionizing the way we use electricity today. This source had lots of information on inventors and scientists in other parts of the world who helped in revolutionizing electricity. It also contained greater details on physicists and scientists in Europe. It helped showing that electricity was not advancing only in the United States. I chose this source because it contained a lot of information on other scientists in other countries besides the United States. I also chose this source because it had information on some characters in history that other sites overlooked. It also had some great facts on different inventions and people. It also contained information on inventors who were not American. I chose to use this source because I was looking for some information pertaining to how some inventions were and what they are now. I was surprised at some of the information I found because I didnt know so many people contributed to inventing something. I also used this source because there were some dates of when things happened in history that dealt with electricity.
