Abstract
SIP Server Technical Overview
SIP Servers enable endpoints to exchange messages, register user location, and move between networks, and enable networks to install routing and security policies, authenticate users and manage user locations. SIP standard defines three types of servers: Proxy, Redirect and Registrar, which can also function as Presence, (B2BUA) or Events Servers, dealing with varying topologies and routing.
