MISC - disable uv's to speed up?. Deleting a layer adds it so turn opacity to 0 first. Uv-Txr to get colors for UV clusters. Alpha - grab doc - zDepth export. Display - double sided. Brush - Backface masking (ignore backface)

Zspheres- Start with 3 zspheres Model flies off, ctrl z cuz it will eventually crash Zsphere -> shft A to convert to Zspheres 2. Will look like polymesh. Add Sketch Shiny material. Sft to eat away Zspheres. Alt to remove. Switch to move tool to move. Sft A = Show Sketch

Preferences Mem, Compact Mem = 512. Draw perspective - 50 Brush Curve Right side is center of stroke can save profile Brush Depth Gravity strength. Great for wrinkles, folds of fat. Can use with blurred mask. Zplug UV Master. Go to lowest division (can delete unnecessary lower subdivisions) then click Unwrap. Can check by going to UV Map and setting Texture size, 2k is good. Then go to Texture Mapnew from UV Map. If you want to control seams then before Unwrap choose enable Control Painting, then use Protect and Attract to help create seam areas. Using textures for masks. Tool must be unwrapped. Texture -> Import. Then apply texture by choosing it through Tool -> Texture Map. Texture Make Alpha. Tool Masking Mask by Alpha. (can invert mask). Areas are now masked so use either Layer brush or Tool-Deformation-Inflat.

HD Geometry stay around 1-1.5 million polygons. Then go Tool Geometry HD and Divide HD. Then go hover over area you want to sculpt and hit A (let it process for a couple secs). When done hit A again to exit. Cant add or delete standard subdivs after appling HD subdivs. Save often, adds more stress to your comp. (How many polygons can be seen on screen is controlled in Preferences-Mem) Tiling Alphas Brush->Alpha and Texture-> alpha tile Brush Auto Masking Cavity Masking and Backface Masking.

Transparency for Image Plane use turn off Ghost for Zproject Movie Turntable Plus

Texturing Polygon count affects Quality. For texturing with bitmaps, Document Size also affects quality. Texture->Image Plane. Line up model and pic. Then use Zproject brush. Ctrl click on pic to sample. (turn off subtools not using)

Sutools List All, All high/low, Insert like Append but places new subtool below selected subtoll instead of at the bottom, Duplicate, Merge Down merges subtool with one below, Transform Menu Solo (in preferences can set it up to be done with L click), Transform Menu- Xpose (blows it apart, centers off selected subtool),

Brushes Elasticity for Move Brush moves topology instead of stretching. Or just use Move Elasticity(auto off, # in thousands where it will turn off). Auto Masking Topological will not go across holes in your mesh or topologically separate (adjust range). Polypaint can paint on layers, REC icon means layer is active, slider is opacity, can delete or duplicate, Bake All to merge. Shadowbox turn off perspective, have 3d tool, click Shadowbox in tool options. Use Mask brushes on shadowbox, snap to orthographic view facing a shadow wall and draw masks, CTRL to Add, CTRL ALT to subtract, quality controlled by Res next to remesh all, options for Stroke when using Mask brushes (center circle), radial symmetry, spacebar to move masks while drawing, turn off shadowbox when happy with model. Can load shadow box tools that have grids and labeled sides. Sides are different polygroups so can isolate certain axis. Clipping brushes CTRL SFT to activate. Similar to shadowbox but sharper results. Matters if crosshair is inside or outside the model, ClipCurve brush hold ALT, double hit ALT MatchMaker Brushes take a subtool and place it on other subtool and have it conform to the surface. Have addition subtool selected, get MatchMaker brush and drag on it and it will warp to fit geometry of what is visible behind it. Spotlight Texture Menu. Load Textures-> Add to Spotlight. Z to hide/show Spotlight dial. Move dial with inner circle, move images with inner area. On Dial tiling buttons for image layouts, rotate, scale, saturation, restore, nudge (good for faces), spotlight radius for preview. Can Save/Load spotlights, will keep collection of images. Best Preview Render BPR Shift R . Settings for different passes. Hold CTRL to do certain areas. To output passes Turn on Create Map, SFT R, then click on thumbnail to save. Can use Fibers Material and render fiber pass (cheap hair/fur?) Sub-Pixel AA Quality slider overall quality SSS- Materials - fast or fresnel overlay. Modifiers - inner outer additive blend sliders and colors. Trishader - copy SH and paste SH in S1, S2, S3. Inshader mixer you have blending modes. To see SSS in render it has to be turned on for light and render. Vdepth in render settings. Fresnel overlay in S2 for SSS Transparency - Render menu - transparency (BPR tranparency settings, stregth, etc). Then for subtool turn on Boolean looking chain icon Mannequin - zpr in project. Turn of classic skinning for better adaptive meshes. Animation - Movie menu -> Timeline and Timeline tracks. Timeline - Show, duration, prev/next keyframe. Click in timeline to add key. Ctrl SFT on pkayback slider to record. Saves to memory, can then save or play it. Can animate explode track. Zproject - File Menu - Save as (zpr) - saves tool plus settings, etc.

GoZ - Tool Menu. hit R to choose which program. Hit GoZ to send subtool to program. Preferences -> GoZ. Can take it into other program with normal and polypaint applied, can make modeling changes and send it back Zbrush Turntables Movie Menu Modifiers (Settings) Document = Controls size of Video. Large = 100% of document size, so changing document size is how you control size of video. Recording/Playback Frames per Second 12 is OK, 20 rec 24 play is good Spin cycles how many full rotations Spin Frames how many frames each rotation takes. Speed of rotation. 8 seconds is pretty good. So about 200 frames. Quality/Intensity/Color crank to maximum Title Image controls duration of Zbrush Opening and Closing Image. Fade In Time = 3. I dont think the end image is necessary so Fade Out = 0. Can add 3 lines of text, they appear with opening Zbrush graphic.

Once All settings are set hit Turntable. Movie is saved to computer memory. Must hit Export to save it. H.264 codec at 24 fps and best quality, no limit data rate. (blacks are a little washed out with H.264, can try Photo-JPG or MPEG4 for better quality but file will be bigger). Must hit Delete to clear that movie. If you continue without hitting Delete whatever you do will be ADDED to that first movie. So you could do a close up turntable and that will be added to the first one. Turntable spins on center of world. To see center Draw -> Floor. So to do close up turntable of head, use Move Transpose tool to move middle of head to center.

Default Red Wax Material is good, for metal try MatCap Metal01, or SilverFoil. Can increase render quality (Render -> Best) and anti-aliasing but in my opinion it doesnt look much better and takes a lot longer to render. http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/TOC
