0 INTRODUCTION
The last half-century has witnessed amazing developments and breakthoughs ininformation technology, computer communications, software technology, computing and computer,Internet and World Wide Web (WWW) technology, among others.Progress in computer networks and telecommunications system is also amazing. There are new efficient switching techniques, network topologies, protocols, analysis and simulation methodologies, benchmarking and traffic engineering techniques, wireless and cellular techniques, encryption and authentication schemes,Gigabit Etherner, high speed routers, high performance ATM technologies including ATM switches that can switch terabits per second, high bandwidth connection on the Internet,Web-Besed computing and communication, among others.

2.0MOBILE COMPUTING
2.1 Definition Mobile computing is a generic term used to Describe the ability to use technology to wirelessly connect to and use centrally located information and/or application software via small portable and wireless computing and communication devices.Normadic computing is another name for mobile computing. Here, users can access the internet and retrieve data from anywhere in the world, using portable computing devices in conjunction with mobile communication technologies.Mobile devices are a combination of hardware, operating system, networking, and software. We will examine the components of the technology and how they relate to the potential and need for handheld computing. We will focus on hand-held devices rather than laptop computers. Hardware for mobile technology hardware is young but maturing.Devices are getting smaller and more portable. The current trend is to combine capabilities of separate devices.PDA like a Palm Pilot/Handspring,originally only supported calendar/schedule and phonebook capabilities.More recent versions also are enabled with Globle Positioning System(GPS).music, video games, paging, and even mobile(cellular)phone.

3.0 INTERNET TECHNOLOGY AND SERVICES

3.1 VoIP VoIP (V over Internet Protocol) is referred as the oice transmission of voice traffic over IPbasednetworks. There are three ways to connect to a VoIP network which is by using a V Telephone, using anormal oIP telephone with a VoIP adapter and using a computer with speakers and a microphone.

3.2 BLOG
A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by anindividual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such asgraphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

4.0 TYPES OF NETWORK

4.1 PAN A personal area network (PAN) is the interconnection of information technology devices withinthe range of an individual person, typically within a range of 10 meters. For example, a persontraveling with a laptop, a personal digital assistant (PDA), and a portable printer couldinterconnect them without having to plug anything in, using some form of wireless technology.Typically, this kind of personal area network could also be interconnected without wires to theInternet or other networks. Also see wireless personal area network (WPAN) which is virtually a synonym since almost any personal area network would need to function wirelessly. Conceptually, the difference between aPAN and a wireless LAN is that the former tends to be centered around one person while thelatter is a local area network (LAN) that is connected without wires and serving multiple users.

4.2 VPN Short for Virtual Private Network is a network that is constructed by using public wires toconnect nodes. For example, there are a number of systems that enable you to create networksusing the Internetas the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that thedata cannot be intercepted.

4.3 WLAN Short for Wireless Local Area Network is a type of local area network that uses high-frequencyradio waves rather than wires to communicate between nodes

4.4 WIMAX WiMAX is a wireless digital communications system that i s intended for wireless "metropolitanarea networks". WiMAX can provide broadband wireless access (BWA) up to 30 miles (50 km)for fixed stations, and 3 - 10 miles (5 - 15 km) for mobile stations. In contrast, the WiFi/802.11wireless local area network standard is limited in most cases to only 100 - 300 feet (30 - 100m)

5.0 Conclusion
Communication can now go across borders with a fast speed and low cost because of

thecontinues development of networks.mobile computing is an already emerging technology that enables access to digital resources at any time, from any location. From a narrow viewpoint, mobile computing represents a convenient addition to wire-based geographically dispersed local area distributed systems. However, in broader sense, mobile computing represents the elimination of time-and-place restrictions imposed by desktop computers and wired networks. In forecasting the impact of mobile technology, one could do well to observe recent trends in the use of the wired infrastructure, particularly, the Internet
