NOTES TO THE USER
SAFETY INFORMATION
· Do not hold the radio in such a manner that the antenna
is touching exposed parts of the body, especially the face
or eyes, while transmitting.
· Do not transmit if antenna is damaged as minor burns
could occur if the metallic core is exposed and is touched. 5
· Do not allow children to operate transmitter-equipped
radio equipment.
· Do not operate the radio near unshielded electrical
blasting caps or in an explosive atmosphere.
· Do not press and hold the transmit switch (PTT) when not
actually wishing to transmit.
· Never use the radio in an aircraft.
· Never use the radio near to sensitive medical equipment
or in areas where instructed, e.g. Petrol filling stations
· When used in a vehicle, do not mount the radio unit on or
near the Airbag or Airbag activating device.
· The use of an accessory not recommended or supplied by
Maxon may cause damage to equipment or injury to
personnel.
· When using any of the charging accessories, the mains
socket-outlet must be installed near the equipment. The
outlet must not be obstructed and must be easily
accessible at all times.
· Never attempt to disassemble, modify or repair the unit
unless the work is carried out by a Maxon approved
Reseller. Incorrect assembly, modification or repair may
cause irreparable damage to your unit and will invalidate
warranty. For service or repair always return your radio to
an authorized Maxon Reseller.
CARE OF THE EQUIPMENT

· Keep the exterior of the radio clean using a soft damp
cloth.
· Do not submerge the radio.
· Do not use solvents or spirits for cleaning as they may
damage the radio housing.
· Do not carry the radio by the antenna.
· Keep battery contacts clean and free of corrosion.
· Do not store batteries in a discharged state.

PREPARING FOR USE
UNPACKING AND INSPECTION

Unpack the radio and check that you have received the
following items:
· SL100K hand-portable radio
· Battery pack

· Belt clip
If any of these items are missing, please contact your
Reseller.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE ANTENNA

A high quality matched antenna is supplied with the SL100K
radio. Install the antenna by turning clockwise into the
antenna socket Ã on the top of the radio, until it is firmly
seated. Do not over tighten. To remove the antenna, reverse
the above procedure.
Never operate the radio without the antenna fitted.
Always use a Maxon approved antenna.
ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE BATTERY

(See Fig. 1)
To attach the battery pack, hold the radio face down in your
hand and position the guides of the battery in line with the
radio guide rails. Slide the battery upward until a click is
heard.
To remove the battery pack, hold the radio face down in your
hand and push the battery latch button located in the upper
right hand corner of the battery pack. Hold the battery latch
button down, and slide the radio battery in a downward
direction.
Gently lift the battery pack away from the base of radio when
it is free from radio guide rails.
ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE BELT CLIP

To attach the clip, hold the radio face down in your hand.
Locate the slot in the belt clip and align with holder on upper
left-hand corner of the radio back. Push upward on belt clip
until a click is heard. To remove the clip, push and hold the
release button located at the top of the belt clip. Slide the
clip away from the belt clip holder.

RADIO PERFORMANCE
Optimum positioning of the radio will significantly improve the
effective transmission range, i.e. hold the radio close
(approximately 5cm) to your mouth whilst talking. Mounting
the radio on a belt and using a lapel microphone may
degrade performance in marginal signal areas. In poor
signal areas, moving the radio just a few metres may
produce a clearer signal.

BATTERY CHARGING AND CARE
To ensure peak performance from your radio, the battery
pack must be fully charged. To obtain maximum capacity and
performance it is recommended that you cycle your new
batteries with at least 3 charges and 2 discharges.
Remove the charger base and power supply from the
8 packaging, and plug in the power supply's DC connector into
the jack on the back of the charging base. Plug the AC
power cord into the standard mains AC outlet.
To charge a battery while attached to a radio, simply place
the radio into the front charging well. The charger will identify
the battery condition, and then automatically initiate a charge
mode - rapid or top-up / trickle.
To charge a battery removed from the radio, place the
battery into the rear charging well. (Belt clip side facing rear.)
Again, the charger will identify the battery condition, and
automatically rapid charge or top-up / trickle charge, the
battery pack.
Note the colour of the LED charge indicators: flashing red for
brief battery analysis, red for rapid charge cycle, green for
the top-up / trickle charge cycle.
When using both charging wells of the fast charger, only one
can rapid charge at a time. The front charging well always
has priority for rapid charging. After the front well cycles from
rapid to top-up / trickle charge, the back well will initiate its
rapid charge mode. Again, note the colour of the charging
well's LED to define the current charging cycle.
Note: To ensure peak performance from your radio,
periodically discharge the battery completely and recharge
fully. This action will prevent the battery from developing a
"memory" of short-term use, and will permit a good service
life.
To prolong battery life in general usage, make sure that the
radio is programmed to use the power save mode.
RECYCLING / DISPOSAL OF BATERIES

The battery should be recycled at the end of its useful life.
Under various local laws, Ni-MH and Ni-Cad batteries must
be recycled or disposed of properly and cannot be discarded
in landfills or incinerators.
For further information on how to safely dispose of your used

batteries, contact your reseller.

SL100K OPERATION
Many of the features of the SL100K are User Defined and
will have been determined by the Reseller and End User
together. Page 13 shows how your radio may have been
programmed.

Turn the radio on by rotating the off/on/volume control À
clockwise.
You will hear a click and (if enabled via dealer programming),
the radio's self-test alert tones. Increase the radio volume by
continuing the clockwise rotation.
To turn the radio off, rotate the control anti-clockwise until a
click is heard.
CHANNEL SELECT
To change radio channels, simply press and release the
buttons s or t until the desired channel is reached. Or,
to scroll through your programmed channels more quickly,
press and hold the s or t buttons. The channel numbers
will appear in the radio's LCD Â (Located on top panel of
unit).
To lock the Channel Select buttons (to prevent accidental

channel change) press and hold Key 1 È for 4 seconds.
"LO" will appear in the LCD display Â. To unlock the
Channel Select buttons, press and hold Key 1 again for 4
seconds
KEYPAD
The Keypad can be locked, by pressing the * (star) and #
(hash) keys at the same time for approximately 1 second.
Repeat the procedure to unlock the keypad.
The following comments are intended to be used as a guide

only, due to the variable nature of the software and radio
features.
TRANSMIT
To Transmit a fixed Selcall address, Group Call, or an
Emergency Call: -
A short or long press on a Call Key, either Key 1 È or Key 2
É depending on set-up. Briefly the LED Á on the top panel
illuminates RED. Conversation can begin by pressing the
PTT Æ button.

To Transmit a variable Selcall address: -
A variable selcall address may be selected using the
numerical keys 0 - 9 .
The number of variable digits will be determined at
programming.
Pressing the * key generates the default address (call 1)
which includes the appended variable digits.
10 Pressing the # key generates the default address (call 2)
which includes the appended variable digits.
For e.g. calling radio 37325, the default address is 373KK,
so only 2 and 5 have to be pressed on the keypad, and then
* to send.
To Transmit DTMF: -
The radio can be programmed for DTMF transmission only,
or can be programmed to toggle between Selcall and DTMF.
If programmed with this "toggle keypad" mode, press the
"toggle keypad" key (defined at programming stage) and
press the DTMF keys to transmit. Pressing the "toggle
keypad" key once more will return the keypad to selcall
mode.
At power-up, the radio will default to Selcall mode.
In DTMF mode only, press the DTMF keys to transmit.

With all of the above features, when ready to speak, hold the
radio microphone area approximately 5 - 8cm from your
mouth, keeping the antenna vertical. Press and hold the PTT
button Æ on the side of the radio, and begin speaking in a
clear, normal tone. Release the PTT button when you have
finished speaking.
To Transmit Status: -
If programmed to send Status, a long press on the # key
places the radio into status mode. The status digit(s) can
then be entered and a further long press on the # key stores
the status digit(s). Pressing the Call 1 Key or the * key will
then transmit the status digit with the Selcall address.
CAUTION: Operation of the transmitter without a proper
antenna fitted may result in permanent damage to the radio.
NOTE: The radio's LED will illuminate red continuously when

you have the PTT button pressed and are transmitting. If the
red LED starts "flashing", the battery needs to be recharged
and transmission will cease. Recharge the battery fully
before reusing.

RECEIVE
Flashing green LED indicates call received, and if
programmed, an alert tone is generated. Conversation can
then begin by pressing the PTT button. LED will continue to
flash until call has been answered.

The SL100K radio provides a range of audible alert tones.
Upon each power-up, a quick melody* indicates that the self-
test of the microprocessor functions has been completed. A
variety of audible tones* may be sounded with any of the
following conditions:
· PTT lockout
· Tx Timeout timer
· Toggling scrambler on and off
· Toggling keypad on and of
· Keypad alerts
· Side button alerts
· Decode of valid selcall address
· Auto-mute alert
· All audible tones can be programmed off for silent
operation

DIAGNOSTIC MESSAGES
In addition to the low battery condition, a flashing red status
LED may also indicate fault conditions
Should your radio apparently not operate correctly, replace

the battery with one known to be fully charged. If the
12 condition persists, or the radio emits an unexpected
continuous pattern of audio beeps, or will not transmit or
receive as it does normally, return the radio to your Maxon
Reseller.

L'UTILISATEUR
SÉCURITÉ
· Ne pas tenir le radio de telle sorte que l'antenne touche
des parties exposées du corps, plus particulièrement le
visage ou les yeux, durant la transmission.

est exposée et touchée.

sensible ou dans des zones où il est interdit de le faire,

· Quand vous utilisez le radio dans un véhicule, ne pas le

· L'utilisation d'un accessoire non recommandé ou fourni

ENTRETIEN DU MATÉRIEL

PREPARATION AVANT UTILISATION
DÉBALLAGE ET INSPECTION
Déballez le radio et vérifiez que vous avez bien reçu les
éléments suivants :
· Radio portatif SL100K
· Batterie 19
· Antenne
· Pince de ceinture
Si l'un de ces éléments est manquant, contactez votre

INSTALLATION
MISE EN PLACE ET RETRAIT DE L'ANTENNE

Une antenne adaptée de haute qualité est fournie avec le
radio SL100K. Installez l'antenne en la faisant tourner dans
le sens des aiguilles d'une montre Ã dans l'orifice prévu à
cet effet sur le dessus du radio, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit
fermement en place. Ne serrez pas trop. Pour retirer
l'antenne, inversez la procédure ci-dessus.
N'utilisez jamais le radio sans l'antenne.
Utilisez toujours une antenne agréée Maxon.
MISE EN PLACE ET RETRAIT DE LA

BATTERIE
(Voir Fig. 1)
Pour fixer la batterie, tenez le radio en main face vers le bas
et placez les rainures de guidage de la batterie dans
l'alignement des rainures de guidage
du radio. Faites glisser la batterie vers le haut jusqu'à ce que
vous entendiez un clic.
Pour retirer la batterie, tenez le radio en main face vers le
bas et enfoncez le bouton de blocage de la batterie situé en
haut à droite de la batterie. Continuez d'enfoncer le bouton
de blocage et faites glisser la batterie vers le bas.
Soulevez doucement la batterie de la base du radio une fois
qu'elle est dégagée des rainures de guidage.
MISE EN PLACE ET RETRAIT
DE LA PINCE DE CEINTURE
Pour attacher la pince, tenez le radio en main face vers le
bas. Localisez la fente dans la pince de ceinture et alignez-la
avec le dispositif d'accrochage situé en haut à gauche au
dos du radio. Poussez vers le haut sur la pince de ceinture

PERFORMANCE DU RADIO
Un positionnement optimal du radio améliorera

considérablement la plage de transmission utile : tenez le
radio près (environ 5 cm) de votre bouche quand vous
parlez. Le montage du radio sur une ceinture et l'utilisation
d'un micro-cravate dégradent la performance dans les zones 21
de signal marginal. Dans les zones de signal faible, le
déplacement du radio de quelques mètres seulement peut
produire un signal plus clair.

RECHARGE ET ENTRETIEN
DE LA BATTERIE
Pour assurer une performance optimale de votre radio, la

batterie doit être entièrement chargée. Pour obtenir une
capacité et une performance maximales, il est recommandé
de soumettre vos batteries neuves à un cycle d'au moins 3
recharges et 2 décharges.
Retirez le chargeur et l'alimentation de l'emballage et
branchez le connecteur CC de l'alimentation dans la prise
jack au dos du chargeur. Branchez le cordon d'alimentation
CA dans la prise secteur CA.
Pour recharger une batterie attachée à un radio, placez
simplement le radio dans le support avant du chargeur. Le
chargeur identifiera l'état de la batterie et déclenchera
automatiquement un mode de recharge : rapide ou lent.
Pour recharger une batterie retirée du radio, placez la
batterie dans le support arrière du chargeur. (Côté pince de
ceinture face à l'arrière). Ici aussi, le chargeur identifiera
l'état de la batterie et déclenchera automatiquement un
mode de recharge rapide ou lente.
Notez la couleur des voyants lumineux de charge de la
batterie : rouge clignotant pour brève analyse de batterie,
rouge pour cycle de recharge rapide, vert pour cycle de
recharge lent.
Quand vous utilisez les deux supports de recharge, la
recharge rapide ne peut être effectuée que par un seul à la
fois. Le support de chargeur avant a toujours la priorité pour
la recharge rapide. Quand le support avant passe de la
recharge rapide à la recharge lente, le support arrière passe
au mode de recharge rapide. Notez à nouveau la couleur du
voyant lumineux du support de chargeur pour définir le cycle
de recharge courant.
Note: pour assurer une performance optimale de votre radio,

procédez régulièrement à une décharge et recharge
22 complètes de votre batterie. Cette action empêchera la
batterie de développer une "mémoire" d'usage à court terme
et permettra une bonne longévité de service.
FRANÇAIS
Pour prolonger la durée de vie de la batterie en usage

général, assurez-vous que le radio soit programmé pour
utiliser le mode d'économie d'énergie.
RECYCLAGE / ELIMINATION DES

BATTERIES
La batterie devrait être recyclée à la fin de sa vie utile. Selon

diverses lois locales, les batteries Ni-MH et Ni-Cd doivent
être recyclées ou éliminées correctement et ne peuvent pas
être jetées dans des sites d'enfouissement ou des
incinérateurs.
Pour tout renseignement sur l'élimination de vos batteries

usées, contactez votre revendeur.
FONCTIONNEMENT DU SL100K
Un grand nombre des fonctions du SL100K sont définies par

l'utilisateur et ont été déterminées par le revendeur et
l'utilisateur final en collaboration. Les page 27 vous montrent
comment votre radio a éventuellement été programmé.
MARCHE/VOLUME/ARRÊT
Mettez le radio en marche en faisant tourner le bouton
off/on/volume À dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre.
Vous entendrez un clic et (si cette option est activée par
programmation du revendeur) les tonalités de signalisation
de test automatique du radio. Augmentez le volume en
continuant de tourner dans le sens des aiguilles d'une
montre.
Pour arrêter le radio, tournez le bouton dans le sens inverse
des aiguilles d'une montre jusqu'à ce que vous entendiez un
clic.
SÉLECTION DE CANAL
Pour changer de canal radio, il vous suffit d'enfoncer et 23
relâcher les boutons t ou s jusqu'à ce que le canal
désiré soit atteint. Ou, pour passer plus rapidement d'un
canal programmé à un autre, enfoncez et relâchez les

Les numéros des canaux apparaissent sur l'écran à cristaux
liquides du radio Â (Situé sur le dessus de l'appareil).
Pour verrouiller les boutons de sélection de canaux (pour

empêcher un changement de canal accidentel) maintenez la
Touche 1 ´ enfoncée pendant 4 secondes. "LO" apparaîtra
sur l'écran à cristaux liquides ®. Pour déverrouiller les
boutons de sélection de canaux, maintenez la Touche 1
enfoncée pendant 4 secondes.
CLAVIER
Le clavier peut être verrouillé en appuyant sur les touches *
et # en même temps pendant environ 1 seconde. Procédez
de même pour réactiver le clavier.
Les commentaires suivants sont donnés à titre indicatif

uniquement en raison de la nature variable des fonctions du
logiciel et du radio.
TRANSMISSION
Pour transmettre une adresse Selcall fixe, un appel de
groupe ou un appel d'urgence :-
Une pression courte ou longue d'une touche d'appel, soit la
Touche 1È soit la Touche 2 É selon la configuration. Le
voyant luminieux Á du panneau supérieur s'illumine
brièvement en ROUGE. La conversation peut commencer en
appuyant sur le bouton de transmission Æ (PTT).
Pour Transmettre Une Adresse Selcall Variable:
Une adresse Selcall variable peut être sélectionnée avec les
touches numériques 0 - 9 .
Le nombre de chiffres variables sera déterminé au moment
de la programmation.
Une pression de la touche * donne l'adresse par défaut
24 (appel 1) qui comprend les chiffres variables annexés.
Une pression de la touche # donne l'adresse par défaut
(appel 2) qui comprend les chiffres variables annexés.
Par ex. pour appeler le radio 37325, l'adresse par défaut est

373KK donc il suffit d'appuyer sur les touches 2 et 5 du

clavier puis sur * pour transmettre.
Pour La Transmission DTMF:

Le radio peut être programmé pour la transmission DTMF
seulement ou pour alterner entre Selcall et DTMF.
S'il est programmé avec ce mode "alterner clavier", appuyez
sur la touche "alterner clavier" (définie au stade de la
programmation) puis sur les touches DTMF pour
transmettre. Appuyez sur la touche "alterner clavier" une fois
de plus pour retourner au mode selcall.
Au moment de la mise en marche, le radio se règle
automatiquement sur le mode Selcall.
Au mode DTMF seulement, appuyez sur les touches DTMF

pour transmettre. Avec toutes les fonctions ci-dessus,
quand vous êtes prêt à transmettre, tenez le micro de votre
radio à environ 5-8 cm de votre bouche en faisant en sorte
que l'antenne soit à la verticale. Enfoncez le bouton PTT Æ
situé sur le côté du radio et commencez à parler sur un ton
clair et normal. Relâchez le bouton PTT quand vous avez fini
de parler.
Pour Transmettre L'Etat:

Si le radio est programmé pour transmettre l'état, une longue
pression de la touche # règle le radio sur le mode d'état.
Le(s) chiffre(s) d'état peuvent alors être saisis et une autre
longue pression de la touche # les enregistre. Appuyez sur
la touche d'appel 1 ou la touche * pour transmettre le chiffre
d'état avec l'adresse Selcall.
ATTENTION: l'utilisation du transmetteur sans une antenne
correcte peut entraîner l'endommagement permanent du
radio.
NOTE: L'indicateur LED du radio reste allumé en rouge

quand le bouton PTT est enfoncé et que vous transmettez.
Si l'indicateur rouge commence à clignoter, la batterie a 25
besoin d'être rechargée et la transmission sera interrompue.
Rechargez la batterie entièrement avant de tenter toute
autre transmission.
FRANÇAIS
RÉCEPTION
Un voyant lumineux vert clignotant indique un appel reçu. Si
le radio est ainsi programmé, ceci s'accompagne d'un
avertissement sonore. La conversation peut commencer en
appuyant sur le bouton de transmission (PTT). Le voyant
lumineux continue de clignoter jusqu'à ce que l'appel soit
pris.
INDICATEURS D'ETAT ET SIGNALISATIONS

SONORES
Le SL100K fournit plusieurs tonalités. A chaque mise en
marche, une mélodie* rapide indique que le test automatique
des fonctions du microprocesseur a été exécuté. Une suite
de tonalités* peut être entendue dans les cas suivants :
· Blocage de transmission
· Arrêt de transmission
· Activation et désactivation du scrambler
· Activation et désactivation du clavier
· Sonorités clavier
· Sonorités boutons latéraux
· Décodage d'adresse selcall valide
· Sonorité silencieux automatique
* Indique une fonction qui est initialement programmée dans

votre radio par votre revendeur Maxon.
Note: Toutes les tonalités peuvent être programmées comme
étant désactivées pour un fonctionnement silencieux.
MESSAGES DE DIAGNOSTIC
En plus de la faiblesse de la batterie, un indicateur LED

rouge clignotant peut indiquer une défaillance.
Si votre radio semble ne pas fonctionner correctement,
remplacez la batterie par une batterie que vous savez être
26 entièrement chargée. Si le problème persiste ou si le radio
émet une série inattendue de "bips", ne transmet pas ou
encore ne réceptionne pas normalement, retournez-le à
votre revendeur Maxon.

cuerpo humano desprotegidas, en especial los ojos y la

INSTRUCCIONES DE MONTAJE
COLOCACIÓN DE LA ANTENA
Para acoplar la antena al portátil gire la antena en el sentido
de las agujas del reloj en el contacto que se encuentra en la
parte superior del portátil.
Nunca utilice el equipo portátil sin la antena montada.

COLOCACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
(Ver Fig.1)
Para colocar la batería, mantenga el portátil boca abajo en
su mano y coloque las guías de la batería en línea con las
guías del portátil. Deslice la batería hacia arriba hasta que
oiga un "clic". Para quitar la batería mantenga el quipo boca
abajo en su mano y empuje el botón de enganche de la
batería localizando en la esquina superior derecha de la
batería.
Mantenga hacia abajo el enganche de la batería y deslice la
batería del portátil hacia abajo. Lentamente saque la batería
de la base del portátil cuando esté fuera de las guías del
equipo
COLOCACIÓN DEL SOPORTE DE CINTURÓN

Para acoplar al soporte, mantenga el portátil boca abajo en
su mano. Localice la ranura en el soporte de cinturón y
aliniela con el gancho en la parte superior izquierda de la
cara posterior del quipo. Empuje hacia arriba en el soporte
de cinturón hasta que oiga un "clic". Para desenganchar,
empuje y mantenga el botón de desenganche que se
encuentra en la parte superior del soporte de cinturón.
Deslice el soporte en la dirección opuesta al gancho.

COBERTURA DEL EQUIPO

Si la cobertura no es buena, mueva el equipo uno metros
hasta mejorarla. Si aún así la señal no es buena, coloque el
equipo sobre una superficie metálica ( como el techo de un
coche )
RECARGA Y CUIDADO DE LA BATERIA
Para asegurar el máximo rendimiento de su portátil la
batería debe de estar completamente cargada. Recargue su
batería nueva durante la noche antes de su primer uso para
obtener la máxima capacidad y rendimiento. Saque la base
del cargador y el transformador de la caja y enchufe el
36 conector de DC en la parte trasera de la base del cargador.
Enchufe el cable AC en cualquier enchufe de AC.
Para cargar la batería mientras está unida al portátil,
simplemente coloque el aparato en el compartimento
delantero de carga. El cargador identificará la condición de
la batería y automáticamente iniciará el modo de carga
rápida o lenta. Para cargar la batería sáquela del aparato,
coloque la batería en el compartimento posterior de carga.
De nuevo, el cargador identificará la condición de la batería
y automáticamente la recargará de modo rápido o lento.
Tenga en cuenta el color de los indicadores LED de carga:
rojo para ciclo de carga rápida, verde para ciclo de carga
lenta.
ESPAÑOL
Cuando se utilizan los dos compartimentos de carga, sólo

uno puede cargar en modo rápido. El compartimiento
delantero de carga siempre tiene prioridad para carga
rápida. Una vez que el compartimiento delantero ha
cambiado de ciclo rápido a ciclo de carga lento, el
compartimento posterior comenzará su modo de carga
rápida.
Una vez más, tenga en cuenta el color del indicador LED del
compartimiento de carga para conocer el ciclo de carga.
Nota: para asegurar el máximo rendimiento de su portátil,

descargue la batería completamente de manera periódica y
recargue completamente. Esto evitará desarrollar una
"memoria" de uso corto, y permitirá una vida duradera de
buen servicio.
RECICLAJE DE BATERIA
Las baterías deben de ser recicladas al final de su vida útil.

información.
FUNCIONAMIENTO DEL SL100K
Muchos de las funciones del SL100K son totalmente
configurables. La página 40 demuestra como su equipo ha
sido programado.
CAMBIO DE CANAL
Para el cambio de canal, pulse los botones t o s . Para

seleccionar el canal de forma más rápida mantenga
pulsados t o s. El número del canal aparecerá siempre en
la pantalla LCD Â.
Para bloquear los selectores de canal ( y evitar un cambio

involuntario de canal ) mantenga pulsado el Pulsador
Lateral 1 ´ durante 4 segundos. La pantalla mostrará las
letras "LO". Para desbloquear mantenga pulsado el Pulsador
Lateral 1 durante 4 segundos.
BLOQUEO DE TECLADO
ESPAÑOL
Para bloquear el teclado, pulse simultáneamente las teclas *
y # durante 1 segundo. Para desbloquear repetir el mismo
proceso.
Los siguientes apartados son únicamente a modo de
referencia, motivado por la gran flexibilidad del equipo.
TRANSMISIÓN
Para transmitir una dirección fija de la llamada selectiva, una
llamada de grupo o una llamada de emergencia:
Breve o larga pulsación de los pulsadores laterales 1 ó 2
(dependiendo de la configuración). El indicador LED se
iluminará brevemente en rojo. La conversación puede
comenzar pulsando el PTT.
Para transmitir una dirección de llamada selectiva variable:
Seleccione la dirección utilizando el teclado numérico 0-9.

El número de dígitos variable es configurable.
Pulsando la tecla * se enviará la dirección por defecto
(llamada 1) incluyendo los dígitos variables añadidos.
Pulsando la tecla # se enviará la dirección por defecto
(llamada 2) incluyendo los dígitos variables añadidos.
Por ejemplo: para llamar a la unidad 37325, si la dirección
por defecto es 373KK, solo hay que pulsar 2 y 5 y después
pulsar * para enviar la llamada.
Para transmitir DTMF:
El equipo se puede programar para transmitir solo DTMF, o
para transmitir DTMF y llamada selectiva.
En este último caso, para alternar DTMF y llamada selectiva,
pulse primero la tecla de selección (función asignable a
cualquier tecla, consulte a su distribuidor),
Al encender el equipo, éste estará por defecto en el modo
38 de llamada selectiva).
Si su equipo está programado solo para DTMF, pulse las
teclas DTMF para transmitir.
Para hablar mantenga el micrófono a 5-8 cm. de la boca,
manteniendo la antena vertical. Pulse PTT y hable de
manera clara y normal; suelte el PTT para escuchar.
Para transmitir estados:

Si su equipo está programado para enviar estados, una
pulsación larga de la tecla # pasará el equipo a modo de
estado. Pulse en ese momento el/los dígito(s) y realice
posteriormente una pulsación larga de la tecla # para
almacenar los dígitos de estado. Pulsando seguidamente el

pulsador de llamada 1, o la tecla * se transmitirán los dígitos

de estado junto con la dirección de llamada selectiva.
PRECAUCION: Si transmite con la antena incorrectamente

instalada, se puede dañar el equipo.
NOTA: El indicador LED se iluminará en rojo cuando esté

transmitiendo. Si el LED parpadea en rojo indicará que la
batería está baja de carga y que debe ser recargada.
RECEPCIÓN
Si ha recibido una llamada el indicador LED parpadeará en
verde (y sonará un tono de alerta sí así ha sido
programado).
Puede iniciar la conversación pulsando el PTT. El indicador
LED continuará parpadeando hasta que se responda a la
llamada recibida.
INDICADORES DE ESTADO Y
TONOS DE ALERTA AUDIBLES
El SL100K proporciona una amplia variedad de tonos de
alerta audibles. Cuando encienda el equipo, escuchará una
breve melodía que indica que efectuado el autochequeo
automático del microprocesador, a su vez el equipo emitirá
una variedad de tonos audibles en cualquiera de las
siguientes situaciones:
· Bloqueo de PTT
· Temporizador de transmisión
· Encendido/apagado del secráfono

HINWEISE AN DEN ANWENDER
SICHERHEITSINFORMATION
· Das Radio nicht so halten, dass die Antenne Körperteile,
im besonderen das Gesicht oder die Augen, während ders
Sendens berührt.
· Nicht senden, falls die Antenne beschädigt ist. Wenn der
46 Metallkern freigelegt ist und berührt wird, kann es zu
leichten Brandverletzungen führen.
· Kinder dürfen Radiogeräte mit Sendern nicht verwenden.
· Den Radio nicht in der Nähe von ungeschirmten,
elektrischen Sprengkappen oder in einer explosiven
Umgebung betreiben.
· Die Sendertaste nicht drücken (PIT), wenn Sie nicht
senden wollen.
· Das Radio niemals in Flugzeugen verwenden.
· Das Radio niemals in der Nähe von empfindlichen
medizinischen Geräten oder in verbotenen Bereichen, wie
Tankstellen verwenden
· Beim Gebrauch in einem Fahrzeug das Radio nicht auf
der Airbag oder den Airbagauslösegeräten befestigen
· Die Verwendung von Zubehör, dass nicht von Maxon
empfohlen oder geliefert wird, kann zu

· Wenn das Aufladezubehör verwendet wird, muss sich die

Steckdose muss immer einfach erreicht werden können.

PFLEGE DES GERÄTS

· Die Aussenseite des Radios mit einem weichen, feuchten
Tuch säubern.
· Den Radio nicht in Flüssigkeiten eintauchen.
· Zum Reinigen keine Lösungsmittel oder Spiritus
verwenden, da diese das Radiogehäuse beschädigen.
· Den Radio nicht an der Antenne festhalten.
· Batteriekontakt sauber und korrosionsfrei halten.
· Leere Batterien nicht aufbewahren.
GEBRAUCHSVORBEREITUNG
AUSPACKEN UND PRÜFUNG

Den Radio auspacken und prüfen, dass die folgenden Teile
enthalten sind:

· Batteriesatz

Wenn eines dieser Teile fehlt, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren
Vertreter.

BEFESTIGUNG UND ABNAHME DER

ANTENNE
Mit dem Radio SL100K wird eine ausgezeichnete passende
Antenne mitgeliefert. Die Antenne mit einer Umdrehung im
Uhrzeigersinn in die Antennenaufnahme oben auf dem Radio
eindrehen, bis sie festsitzt. Nicht übermässig festziehen. Zur
Abnahme der Antenne diesen Vorgang umgekehrt
ausführen.
Niemals den Radio ohne Antenne verwenden.
Immer eine Antenne verwenden, die von Maxon genehmigt
ist.
BEFESTIGUNG UND ABNAHME DER

BATTERIE
(Siehe Abb. 1)
Zur Befestigung der Batterie den Radio nach unten zeigend
festhalten und die Batterieführer mit den Führungsschienen
des Radios ausrichten. Die Batterie nach oben schieben, bis
sie einklickt. Zur Abnahme der Batterie den Radio nach
unten zeigend festhalten und die Batteriersperrtaste in der
oberen rechten Ecke des Batteriesatzes drücken. Halten Sie
diese Taste fest und schieben Sie die Radiobatterie nach
unten weg. Wenn die Batterie aus den
Radioführungsschienen frei ist, sie langsam von unten
wegnehmen.
BEFESTIGUNG UND ABNAHME DES
GÜRTELKLIPS
Zur Befestigung des Klips den Radio nach unten zeigend
festhalten. Den Schlitz im Gürtelklip finden und ihn mit dem
Halter oben links auf der Rückseite des Radios ausrichten.
Nach oben auf den Gürtelklip schieben, bis er einklickt. Um
den Klip abzunehmen, die Freigabetaste, die sich oben auf
48 dem Gürtelklip befindet, drücken. Den Klip vom
Gürtelkliphalter wegschieben.

RADIOLEISTUNG
Die optimale Positionierung des Radios verbessert den
effektiven Sendebereich, d.h. den Radio nahe (ca. 5 cm) vor
Ihren Mund halten. Die Befestigung des Radios am Gürtel
und die Verwendung eines Knopflochmikrofons kann die
Leistung geringfügig verschlechtern. Wenn die Position des
Radios in schlechten Signalgebieten um einige Meter
verschoben wird, kann dies ein deutlicheres Signal ergeben. 49
BATTERIEAUFLADUNG UND PFLEGE

Um die beste Leistung Ihres Radios zu versichern, muss die
Batterie voll aufgeladen sein. Um die maximale Kapazität
und Leistung zu erhalten, wird empfohlen, dass Sie Ihre
neue Batterien mit mindestens 2 Aufladungen und 2
Entladungen abwechseln.
Nehmen Sie das Ladegerät und Netzanschlussgerät aus der
Verpackung und stecken Sie den DC-Anschluss des
Netzanschlussgeräts hinten unten in die Buchse des
Ladegeräts ein. Das AC-Stromkabel in die normale AC-
Hauptstromsteckdose einstecken.
Um eine Batterie aufzuladen, die noch am Radio befestigt
ist, einfach den Radio vorne in die Ladegrube einstecken.
Das Aufladegerät erkennt den Batteriezustand und leitet
dann automatisch den Auflademodus ein - schnell oder
nachladen/Daueraufladung.
Um eine Batterie aufzuladen, die sich nicht im Radio
befindet, die Batterie in die hintere Ladegrube einstecken
DEUTSCH
(der Gürtelklip zeigt nach hinten). Das Aufladegerät erkennt

wieder den Batteriezustand und leitete automatisch Schnell-,
Nach- oder Dauerladung ein.
Bitte die Farben der LED-Ladeanzeiger ansehen: blinkendes
Rot für kurze Batterieanalyse, Rot für Schnelladungsperiode,
grün für die Nachlade/Daueraufladungsperiode.
Wenn beide Ladegruben des Schnelladegeräts verwendet
werden, kann nur einer der beiden schnell aufladen. Die
vordere Ladegrube hat immer Vorrang zur Schnelladung.
Nachdem die vordere Grube von Schnell- auf
Nach/Dauerladung umgeschaltet hat, leitet die hintere Grube
ihren Schnellademodus ein. Wieder die Farbe der LED der
Ladegrube ansehen, um die aktuelle Ladeperiode zu
definieren.
Hinweis: Damit Ihr Radio immer ausgezeichnet funktioniert,

regelmässig die Batterie komplett entladen und voll neu
aufladen. Diese Handlung verhindert, dass sich die Batterie
an den kurzfristigen Gebrauch "gewöhnt" und garantiert
gleichzeitig eine gute Dienstlebensdauer.
Um die Batterielebensdauer im allgemeinen Gebrauch zu
verlängern, sicherstellen, dass der Radio auf
Stromsparmodus eingestellt ist.
RECYCLING / ENTSORGUNG
DER BATTERIE

Die Batterie sollte nach Ende ihres Gebrauchs immer
recycled werden. Unter den verschiedenen Ortsgesetzen
müssen Ni-MH und Ni-Cad Batterien entweder recycled oder
ordnungsgemäss und nicht auf Müllhalden oder in
Verbrennungsanlagen entsorgt werden.
Zur weiteren Information über die sichere Entsorgung Ihrer
gebrauchten Batterien wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren
Vertreter.
BETRIEB DES SL100K

Viele der Einrichtungen des SL100K sind anwenderdefiniert
und wurden vom Vertreter und dem Endanwender
zusammen erstellt. Seite 54 zeigen, wie Ihr Radio
programmiert sein kann.
EINSCHALTEN/LAUTSTÄRKE /
AUSSCHALTEN
Den Radio durch Drehen der
DEUTSCH
Ein/Aus/Lautstärkenregelungstaste ¯ im Uhrzeigersinn
einschalten.
Sie hören einen Klick und (falls durch
Händlerprogrammierung aktiviert) die Selbsttesttöne des
Radios. Die Radiolautstärke kann erhöht werden, indem Sie
im Uhrzeigersinn weiterdrehen.
KANALAUSWAHL
Um die Radiokanäle umzuschalten, einfach die Tasten t
oder s drücken und wieder freigeben , bis der
gewünschte Kanal erreicht worden ist. Oder um schneller
durch die programmierten Kanäle zu skrollen, drücken Sie
die Tasten t oder s. Die Kanalnummern erscheinen auf der
LCD des Radios Â (befindet sich oben auf der Einheit).
Um die Kanalauswahltasten zu sperren, (um versehentliche
Kanaländerung zu vermeiden) drücken Sie Taste 1 ´ 4
Sekunden lang. In der LCD-Anzeige ® erscheint "LO". Um
die Kanalauswahltaste wieder freizugeben, drücken Sie die
Taste 1 noch einmal 4 Sekunden lang.
TASTATUR
Die Tastatur kann durch gleichzeitiges Drücken der Tasten *
(Sternchen) und # (Kreuz)1 Sekunde lang gesperrt werden.
Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang, um die Tastatur freizugeben.
Die folgenden Kommentare sind nur als Richtlinien gedacht,

da die Software und die Radioeigenschaften recht
unterschiedlich sein können. 51
SENDEN
Senden einer festgelegten Selcall-Adresse, Gruppenruf
oder Notruf:-
Kurz oder lang auf die Ruftaste drücken, die abhängig von
Setup entweder Taste 1 È oder Taste 2 É sein kann. Die
LED Á auf der oberen Platine leuchtet kurz ROT auf. Die
Unterhaltung kann durch das Drücken der PTT Æ Taste
beginnen.
Senden einer variablen Selcall-Adresse:- Eine variable

Selcall-Adresse kann durch die Verwendung der
Zahlentasten 0 - 9 ausgewählt werden. Die Anzahl der
variablen Stellen wird bei der Programmierung bestimmt.
Wenn die *-Taste gedrückt wird, wird die voreingestellte
Adresse (Ruf 1) generiert, die die angehängten variablen
Zeichen enthält.
Wenn die #-Taste gedrückt wird, wird die voreingestellte
Adresse (Ruf 2) generiert, die die angehängten variablen
Zeichen enthält.
DEUTSCH
Zum Beispiel: wenn Radio 37325 gerufen wird, ist die

voreingestellte Adresse 373KK. Daher müssen zum Senden
nur 2 und 5 auf der Tastatur und dann * gedrückt werden.
DTMF senden:- Der Radio kann so programmiert werden,

dass er nur DTMF-sendet oder dass er zwischen Selcall
und DTMF umschaltet.
Wenn er mit dieser "Umschalttastatur" programmiert ist, die
"Umschalttastatur"-Taste (im Programmierstadium definiert)
und zum Senden die DTMF-Tasten drücken. Die
"Umschalttastatur"-Taste noch einmal drücken, damit die
Tastatur wieder auf den Selcall-Modus umschaltet.
Nur im DTMF-Modus auf die DTMF-Tasten drücken , um

das Senden zu starten.
Wenn all die oben aufgeführten Einrichtungen ausgeführt

worden sind und Sie zum Sprechen bereit sind, halten Sie
den Radiomikrofonbereich ungefähr 5 - 8 cm vor Ihren Mund
und halten Sie dabei die Antenne vertikal. Drücken Sie die
PTT-Taste Æ auf der Seite des Radios und sprechen Sie
deutlich. Lassen Sie die PTT-Taste los, wenn Sie aufhören,
zu sprechen.
Status senden:- Wenn der Radio auf 'Status senden'

programmiert ist, geht der Radio in den Statusmodus über,
wenn die #-Taste lang genug gedrückt wird. Die
52 Statuszeichen können dann eingegeben werden und ein
weiteres langes Drücken der #-Taste speichert die
Statuszeichen. Das Drücken der Taste Ruf 1 oder der *-Taste
sendet dann die Statuszeichen mit der Selcall-Adresse.
VORSICHT: Der Betrieb des Senders ohne ordungsgemäss

angebrachte Antenne kann zu permanenter Beschädigung
des Radios führen.
HINWEIS: Die LED des Radios leuchtet ständig rot auf,

wenn die PTT-Taste gedrückt ist und gesendet wird. Wenn
die rote LED "aufblinkt", muss die Batterie neu aufgeladen
werden und die Sendung wird abgebrochen. Die Batterie voll
aufladen, bevor sie wieder verwendet wird.
EMPFANG
Eine aufblinkende grüne LED zeigt an, dass ein Ruf
angenommen worden ist und, falls programmiert, ein
Warnton ausgelöst wird. Die Unterhaltung kann dann
beginnen, indem die PTT-Taste gedrückt wird. LED blinkt, bis
der Ruf beantwortet wird.

STATUSANZEIGER UND
HÖRBARE WARNTÖNE
Der Radio SL100K enthält mehrere hörbare Warntöne. Bei
jeder Einschaltung zeigt eine schnelle Melodie* an, dass der
Selbsttest der Mikroprozessorfunktionen abgeschlossen ist.
Mehrere hörbare Töne* können mit jeder der folgenden
Bedingungen ausgelöst werden:
· PTT-Sperring
· Tx Timeout-Timer
· Mischgerät ein- und ausschalten
· Tastatur ein- und ausschalten
· Tastaturalarme
· Seittastenalarme
· Entkodierung von gültiger Selcall-Adresse
· Auto-Abschaltalarm
* Zeigt eine Funktion an, die anfänglich auf den Radio von
Ihrem Maxon-Vertreter programmiert worden ist.
Hinweis: Alle hörbare Töne können auf leisen Betrieb
programmiert werden.
DIAGNOSEMELDUNGEN
Zusätzlich zu der Bedingung 'Batterie schwach', kann eine
blinkende Status-LED auch Fehlerbedingungen anzeigen.
Sollte Ihr Radio augenscheinlich nicht korrekt funktionieren,

ersetzen Sie die Batterie mit einer, die voll ist. Wenn die
Bedingung weiterhin bestehenbleibt, oder der Radio
unerwartete ständige Piepstöne abgibt, oder nicht wie 53
normal sendet oder empfängt, schicken Sie Ihren Radio an
Ihren Maxon-Vertreter zurück.

OSSERVAZIONI PER L'UTENTE
INFORMAZIONI ANTINFORTUNISTICHE
· Non tenere la radio in modo tale che, durante la
trasmissione, l'antenna tocchi parti esposte del corpo,
specialmente il viso o gli occhi.
· Non trasmettere se l'antenna è danneggiata, perché se si
60 tocca l'anima metallica nuda si potrebbero causare piccole
ustioni.
· Non lasciare che i bambini facciano funzionare apparecchi
radio muniti di trasmettitore.
· Non fare funzionare la radio in vicinanza di detonatori
elettrici non schermati o in atmosfera esplosiva.
· Non tenere premuto l'interruttore di trasmissione (PTT) se
non si ha effettivamente l'intenzione di trasmettere.
· Non usare mai la radio su un aeroplano.
· Non usare mai la radio in vicinanza di apparecchiature
mediche sensibili o nelle zone dove ne è vietato l'uso, ad
es. le stazioni di servizio.
· Se viene usata in un'autovettura, non montare la radio
sull'airbag o sul suo dispositivo di attivazione o nelle sue
vicinanze.
· L'uso di un accessorio non raccomandato o fornito da
Maxon può causare danni all'apparecchio o lesioni alle
persone.
· Quando si usa uno degli accessori di caricamento, la
presa di rete deve essere vicina all'apparecchio. La presa
non deve essere ostruita e deve sempre essere facilmente
accessibile.
· Non cercare mai di smontare, modificare o riparare
l'apparecchio a meno che il lavoro non venga eseguito da
un rivenditore approvato Maxon. Un montaggio, una
modifica od una riparazione incorrette possono causare
danni irreparabili all'apparecchio ed invalidano la garanzia.
Per interventi di manutenzione o riparazione rispedire
sempre la radio ad un rivenditore approvato Maxon.

CURA DELL'APPARECCHIO
· Tenere pulito l'esterno della radio servendosi di un panno
morbido umido.
· Non sommergere la radio.
· Per la pulizia non usare solventi od alcool perché possono
danneggiare il contenitore della radio.
· Non trasportare la radio tenendola per l'antenna.
· Mantenere i contatti della batteria puliti e privi di corrosione.
· Non conservare le batterie allo stato scarico.
PREPARAZIONI PER L'USO
DISIMBALLAGGIO E ISPEZIONE
Disimballare la radio e verificare di avere ricevuto i seguenti
componenti:

· Pacco batteria 61

· Clip per aggancio a cintura
Se manca uno di questi componenti, si prega di mettersi in
contatto con il rivenditore da cui si è acquistata la radio.
ISTRUZIONI PER IL MONTAGGIO
COLLEGAMENTO E RIMOZIONE
DELL'ANTENNA
Con la radio SL100K viene fornita un'antenna particolare di
ottima qualità. Installare l'antenna ruotandola in senso orario
nell'innesto che si trova in cima alla radio, sino a quando è
ben fissata. Non stringere eccessivamente. Per togliere
l'antenna, invertire l'ordine delle operazioni precedenti.
Non far mai funzionare la radio senza l'antenna montata.
Usare sempre un'antenna approvata Maxon.
COLLEGAMENTO E RIMOZIONE
DELLA BATTERIA
(Vedi Fig. 1)
Per collegare il pacco batteria, tenere la radio in mano rivolta
verso il basso e allineare le guide della batteria con le guide
della radio. Spingere la batteria verso l'alto sino a quando
non si sente uno scatto.
Per togliere il pacco batteria, tenere la radio in mano rivolta
verso il basso e spingere il tasto del dispositivo di chiusura
che si trova nell'angolo a destra in alto del pacco batteria.
Tenere premuto questo tasto e fare scivolare la batteria

verso il basso.
Quando questa si è allontanata dalle guide della radio,
sollevarla con cura e allontanarla dalla base.
ATTACCO E RIMOZIONE DELLA
CLIP PER AGGANCIO A CINTURA
Per attaccare la clip, tenere la radio in mano rivolta verso il
basso. Localizzare la scanalatura nella clip ed allinearla con
il supporto situato nell'angolo in alto a sinistra sul retro della
radio. Spingere verso l'alto sulla clip sino a quando non si
sente uno scatto. Per togliere la clip, tenere premuto il tasto
62 di rilascio che si trova in cima alla clip stessa. Allontanare la
clip facendolo scivolare dal supporto.

PRESTAZIONI DELLA RADIO
Un posizionamento ottimale della radio migliora
notevolmente il campo effettivo di trasmissione; a questo
scopo, tenere la radio a circa 5 cm dalla bocca mentre si
parla. Se si fissa la radio alla cintura e si usa un microfono
da risvolto si possono diminuire le prestazioni della radio
nelle zone a segnale più debole. Nelle zone a segnale 63
debole, spostando la radio anche di soli pochi metri si può
creare un segnale più chiaro.
CARICA E CURA DELLA BATTERIA

Per garantire le migliori prestazioni della radio, il pacco
batteria deve essere caricato a fondo. Per avere la capacità
massima ed ottenere i migliori risultati si consiglia di caricare
3 volte e scaricare 2 volte le batterie nuove.
Togliere dalla confezione il supporto del caricabatterie e
l'alimentatore, e inserire il connettore a c.c. dell'alimentatore
nella presa jack che si trova sul retro della base del
supporto. Inserire il cavo di alimentazione a c.a. nella presa
di corrente di rete.
Per caricare una batteria mentre è collegata alla radio, basta
sistemare la radio nel comparto frontale di carica. Il
caricabatterie determina le condizioni della batteria e, a
seconda dei casi, si porta automaticamente in una delle due
modalità di carica - rapida o di rabbocco / mantenimento.
Per caricare una batteria mentre è scollegata dalla radio,
sistemarla nel comparto posteriore di carica. (Lato della clip
per aggancio a cintura rivolto verso il retro.) Anche in questo
caso, il caricabatterie determina le condizioni della batteria e
automaticamente effettua una carica rapida o di rabbocco /
mantenimento.
Notare il colore dei LED che indica il tipo di carica: rosso
lampeggiante per una breve analisi della batteria, rosso per
un ciclo di carica rapida, verde per un ciclo di rabbocco /
mantenimento.
Quando si usano entrambi i vani di carica, si può effettuare

una carica rapida solo su uno dei due alla volta. La carica
rapida avviene sempre in modo prioritario nel vano anteriore.
Dopo che il vano anteriore è passato dalla carica rapida a
quella di rabbocco / mantenimento, il vano posteriore entra
in modalità di carica rapida. Anche in questo caso, prendere
nota del colore del LED del vano che sta caricando per
individuare il ciclo di carica in corso.
N.B. - Per garantire le migliori prestazioni della radio, di tanto

in tanto scaricare completamente la batteria e ricaricarla a
fondo. Questo modo di operare impedisce alla batteria di
crearsi una "memoria" a breve termine e ne migliora la
durata in servizio.
Per prolungare la vita della batteria in generale, verificare

che la radio sia programmata in modo da utilizzare la
modalità di risparmio energia.

RICICLAGGIO/SMALTIMENTO
DELLE BATTERIE
Al termine della loro vita utile le batterie dovrebbero essere
riciclate. Conformemente a varie leggi locali, le batterie Ni-
MH e Ni-Cd devono essere riciclate o smaltite
opportunamente e non possono essere gettate in discarica o
in un inceneritore.
Per ulteriori informazioni sul modo di smaltire in modo sicuro

le batterie usate, si prega di contattare il rivenditore più
vicino.
FUNZIONAMENTO DELLA RADIO

SL100K
Molte delle funzioni del modello SL100K sono definite
dall'utente e sono state determinate dal rivenditore assieme
all'utente finale. Le pagina 68 indicano come la radio può
essere stata programmata.
ACCESO/VOLUME/SPENTO
Accendere la radio ruotando in senso orario la manopola À
off/on/volume.
Si udrà uno scatto e (se la radio è stata programmata in tal
senso dal rivenditore) si potranno udire i segnali di avviso
del test di autoverifica. Aumentare il volume della radio

continuando a ruotare la manopola in senso orario.

Per spegnere la radio, ruotare la manopola in senso
antiorario sino a quando si ode uno scatto.
SELEZIONE DEL CANALE

Per cambiare i canali della radio, basta premere e mollare i
tasti t o s sino a quando si raggiunge il canale
desiderato. Oppure, per scorrere più velocemente i canali
già programmati, tenere premuti i tasti t o s. I numeri dei
canali appariranno nel visualizzatore a cristalli liquidi Â della
radio (situato sul pannello superiore dell'apparecchio).
Per bloccare i tasti di Selezione Canali (ed impedire un

cambio fortuito di canale) tenere premuto il tasto 1 ´ per 4
secondi. Nel display a LCD ® appare la scritta "LO". Per
sbloccare i tasti di Selezione Canali, tenere premuto ancora
il tasto 1 per 4 secondi.

TASTIERINA
La tastierina può essere bloccata premendo
contemporaneamente i tasti * e # per 1 secondo circa. Per
sbloccare la tastierina ripetere questo procedimento.
Le osservazioni che seguono vogliono servire solo da

orientamento, a causa della natura variabile del software e
delle funzioni della radio.
TRASMISSIONE
Per trasmettere un indirizzo Selcall fisso, una chiamata di
gruppo o una chiamata d'emergenza: - Premere brevemente
o a lungo su un tasto di chiamata, a seconda della
configurazione il tasto1È o il tasto 2 É. Il LED Á sul
pannello superiore si accende brevemente di luce ROSSA.
Premendo il tasto PTT Æ si può avviare la conversazione.
Per trasmettere un indirizzo Selcall variabile: -

Si può scegliere un indirizzo Selcall variabile usando i tasti
numerici da 0 a 9 .
Il numero di cifre variabili viene determinato al momento
della programmazione.
Premendo il tasto * si crea l'indirizzo di default (chiamata 1)
che comprende le cifre variabili aggiunte.
Premendo il tasto # si crea l'indirizzo di default (chiamata 2)
che comprende le cifre variabili aggiunte.
Ad esempio, per chiamare la radio 37325, l'indirizzo di
default è 373KK, per cui basta premere 2 e 5 sulla tastierina,
e successivamente * per avviare la chiamata.

Per trasmettere in DTMF: -

La radio può essere programmata solo per trasmissione in
DTMF (Dual-Tone Multifrequency), o può essere
programmata per alternarsi fra Selcall e DTMF.
Se è programmata con quest'ultima modalità, premere il
tasto di "tastierina ad alternanza" (definito in fase di
programmazione) e premere i tasti DTMF per
trasmettere. Premendo ancora un volta il tasto di "tastierina
ad alternanza" si fa tornare la tastierina in modalità Selcall.
Al momento dell'accensione, la radio assumerà la modalità
predefinita Selcall.
Solo quando si è in modalità DTMF, premere i tasti DTMF
per trasmettere.
Con tutte le funzioni suindicate, quando si è pronti a parlare,

portare il microfono della radio a circa 5 cm di distanza dalla
bocca, tenendo l'antenna verticale. Tenere premuto il tasto
PTT Æ di fianco alla radio, e cominciare a parlare con voce
66 chiara e normale. Quando si è terminato di parlare, mollare il
tasto PTT.
Per trasmettere messaggi di stato: -

Se la radio è programmata per inviare messaggi di stato,
premendo a lungo il tasto # si porta la radio sulla modalità di
stato. A questo punto si possono digitare le cifre di stato, che
possono essere memorizzate premendo ancora a lungo il
tasto #. Premendo il tasto di chiamata 1 o il tasto * si
trasmettono le cifre di stato assieme all'indirizzo Selcall.
ATTENZIONE: Facendo funzionare il trasmettitore senza

montare un'antenna adeguata si possono creare danni
permanenti alla radio.
N.B. - Quando si preme il tasto PTT e si sta trasmettendo, il

LED della radio rimane acceso in continuazione di luce
rossa. Se comincia a "lampeggiare", occorre ricaricare la
batteria e la trasmissione s'interrompe. Ricaricare a fondo la
batteria prima di usarla ancora.
RICEZIONE
Il LED con luce verde lampeggiante indica che si è ricevuta
una chiamata e, se è stato programmato, si crea un segnale
acustico d'avviso. A questo punto si può avviare la
conversazione premendo il tasto PTT. Il LED continua a
lampeggiare sino a quando non si risponde alla chiamata.
INDICATORI DI STATO E
SEGNALI ACUSTICI DI AVVISO
ITALIANO
La radio SL100K prevede tutta una serie di segnali acustici

di avviso. Tutte le volte che si accende la radio, una
musichetta veloce* indica che è terminata l'autoverifica delle
funzioni del microprocessore. In una delle seguenti
condizioni possono venire emessi diversi segnali acustici*:
· Blocco del PTT
· Temporizzatore di time-out
· Alternanza acceso/spento dello scrambler
· Alternanza acceso/spento della tastierina
· Avvisi tastierina
· Avvisi pulsanti laterali
· Decodifica di un indirizzo Selcall valido
· Avviso di silenziamento automatico
* Indica una funzione programmata sin dall'inizio nella radio

dal rivenditore Maxon.
N.B. - È possibile programmare la radio in modo che tutti i
segnali acustici siano disattivati per avere un funzionamento 67
silenzioso.
MESSAGGI DIAGNOSTICI
Oltre alla condizione di carica bassa nella batteria, un LED
rosso lampeggiante può anche indicare condizioni di guasto.
Se la radio non dovesse funzionare correttamente, sostituire

la batteria con una che si sa essere pienamente carica. Se
la condizione perdura, o se la radio emette una serie
continua ed inattesa di segnali acustici, o non trasmette o
riceve normalmente, riportare la radio al rivenditore Maxon
da cui si è acquistata.
