Mientras el mundo poltico ha gastado dcadas preciosas en discusiones interminables sobre la reduccin de los efectos del cambio climtico y cientficos en el mundo utilizan inmensos recursos econmicos, algunos para demostrar que el cambio climtico existe y otros para negarlo, en diversos lugares del planeta hay muchas otras personas, comunidades, activistas, representantes de ONGS, funcionarios pblicos de niveles medios y operativos, guardaparques, conservacionistas.., en general, personas que son conscientes que la solucin no se logra solo con discusiones polticas, grandes foros y conferencias, si no por el contrario con acciones concretas en pro de la conservacin de los recursos naturales, muchos de ellos, bosques tropicales amenazados por diversas actividades productivas o extractivas. En este escenario de tensin, conservacin o riesgo de perdida de nuestro patrimonio natural el turismo juega un papel significativo, pues los grandes flujos de visitantes a estas reas naturales posibilitan la generacin de ingresos a la cadena de actores que interviene en una oferta turstica, que sin duda se basa en la mayor proteccin y conservacin del atractivo natural, motivador y cogestor de la experiencia turstica tan anhelada por quienes se desplazan en bsqueda de lugares prstinos o al menos en excelentes condiciones de conservacin.
