Aim

To analyse a three-phase medium length transmission line by using the Tmethod.

EQUIPMENT

AC power supply
Four resistors
Two 100mH inductors
One 5 A fuse
Phasor meter
One 40F capacitor

Method and procedure


A circuit was constructed as shown in the diagram above. The phasor meter
was connected as an ammeter, and currents Is, IR and Ic were measured. The
phasor meter was then disconnected and was applied as a voltmeter and the
following voltages were measured:
Vs
= Vsending
VR
= VReceiving
V2Line = Voltage drop on one half
V3Line = Voltage on other half
V1
= Voltage drop due to capacitance
After the measurements were taken, VR was then taken as reference and IR
as known and calculated.

Analysis of results and deduction


L = 100mH

Conclusion
We can conclude from the above table that the measured and calculated
values are almost the same. At the time of printing, simulated values were still
to be confirmed.
