Architectural Rendering Softwares

1. AUTODESK It is an American multinational corporation that focuses on 3D design software for the use in the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, media and entertainment industries. The company was founded in 1982 by John walker. A co-author of the first versions of the companys flagship CAD software product AutoCAD, and 12 others. Autodesk software has been used in the design of everything from the New York Freedom Tower to Tesla electric cars. Autodesk is headquartered in San Rafael, California and features a gallery of its customers work in its San Francisco building. In March 2008, was named number 25 on Fast Companys list of The Worlds 50 Most Innovative Companies. The company is often seen as a bellwether for the broader economy because its software is used in many major global construction projects and the manufacturing of new products.

Autodesks digital prototyping software, including Autodesk Inventor and the Autodesk Product Design Suite, are used in the manufacturing industry to visualize, simulate and analyze real-world performance using a digital model during the design process.

It also provides digital media creation and management software for film and television visual effects, color grading, and editing as well as animation, game

development, and design visualization. Autodesk media and entertainment software has been used to construct scenes in every Academy Award Best Visual Effects winner for the last sixteen years.

The company has announced plans to transition most of its software into cloud services over the next three years. In 2011, Autodesk was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the fourth consecutive year. The same year, Glassdoor.com listed Autodesk as one of the top 25 companies for work-life balance.

History of Autodesk: Autodesks first notable product was AutoCAD, a CAD application designed to run on the systems known as microcomputers at the time, including those running the 8-bit CP/M operating system and two of the new 16-bit systems, the Victor 9000 and the IBM Personal Computer (PC). This cad tool allowed users to create detailed technical drawings and was affordable to many smaller design, engineering and architecture companies.

In the 1990s, with the purchase of softdesk in 1997, AUTODESK STARTED to develop specialty versions of AutoCAD, targeted to broad industry segments, including architecture, civil engineering, and manufacturing. Since the late 1900s, the company has added a number of significant non-AutoCAD-based products, including revit, a parametric building modeling application, and Inventor, an internally developed parametric mechanical design CAD application.

2. AUTOCAD It is a software application for computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting in both 2D and 3D. It is developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc. it was first released in December 1982; AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs to run on personal computers, notably the IBM PC.

Design: AutoCAD has also developed a few vertical programs for discipline-specific enhancements. For example, AutoCAD Architecture (formerly Architectural

Desktop) permits architectural designers to draw 3d objects, such as walls, doors and

windows, with more intelligent data Associated with them rather than simple objects, such as lines and circles. The data can be programmed to represent specific architectural products sold in the construction industry, or extracted into a data file for pricing, materials estimation, and other values related to the objects represented. Additional tools generate standard 2D drawings, such as elevations and sections from a 3D architectural model.

AutoCAD LT is the lower cost version of AutoCAD, although, with reduced capabilities, first released in November 1993. This became the first product in the companys history priced below $1000 to bear the AutoCAD name.

In 2010, Autodesk released their first AutoCAD mobile application AutoCAD WS. This mobile application allows registered users to view, edit, and share their work wherever they go. A registered license is required to use the mobile application. Both the Android ios versions allow users to save files online and offline when no internet connection is available. AutoCAD supports a number of APIs for customization and automation. These include AutoLISP, VisualLisp, VBA, .NET and ObjectARX. Objectarx is a c++ class library, which was also the base for: (a) Products extending AutoCAD functionality to specific fields; (b) creating products such as AutoCAD Architecture, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Civil 3D; or (c) third-party AutoCAD-based applications.

AutoCAD is licensed at a significant discount over commercial retail pricing to qualifying students and teachers, with a 36-month license available. The student version of AutoCAD is functionally identical to the full commercial version, with one exception: DWG files created or edited by a student version have an internal bit-flag set. When a DWG file is printed by any version of AutoCAD, the output includes a plot stamp / banner on all four sides. Objects created in the Student version

cannot be used for commercial use. The Autodesk Education Community provides registered students and faculty with free access to different Autodesk applications.

Autodesk stopped supporting Apples computers in 1994. Over the next several years, no compatible versions for Macintosh computers were released. In the fall of 2010 though, Autodesk announced that they would once again support Apples MAC

OS X software in their future version of AutoCAD. Most of the same features found in the 2012 Windows version can also be found in the 2012 Mac version as well. The main difference is the user interface and layout of the program. The interface is designed so that users who are already familiar with Apple's OS X software will find it similar to other Apple applications. Autodesk has also built in various features in order to take full advantage of Apple's TrackPad capabilities as well as the fullscreen mode in Apple's OS X Lion. AutoCAD 2012 for Mac supports both the editing
and saving of files in DWG formatting that will allow the file to be compatible with other platforms besides

the OS X. AutoCAD 2012 currently supports Mac OS

10.6.4 upwards.
