HISTORY OF BABYLON GROUP


Babylon Group started its journey in 1986 with Babylon Garments Limited with a humble setup. Relentless efforts and a constant persuasion of quality resulted in the groups expansion to 14 different concerns. All the units function independently but operate under the direct supervision of the group head quarter. Babylon has strong footing in both knit and woven products. Several units of the group are dedicated to produce finest quality products for buyers around the globe. The group is self reliant and is involved in woven wear manufacturing, knit wear manufacturing, washing plant, printing house, knitting unit, dyeing and finishing of knitted fabrics, embroidery, trims manufacturing, paper converting and packaging, apparel trading etc. It also has fashion wear retailing outlets to satisfy the growing local demand. The company currently employs over 10,000 skilled employees and had a turnover of about $90 million in the year 2009. In all the different production with the workers have to go through a process of continuous and rigorous training to maintain a high standard of production set by the management. The group also caters this driving force by ensuring facilities that exceed the minimum set by international regulators. It maintains a fair price shop, medical and day care services, scholarship programs and other benevolent initiatives for the employees and their family members. As part of their commitment towards the society, the group has established a medical service station open for all. Babylon distributes relief materials including cash to the victims in any part of the country during natural adversities. Buyers have been the soul partners of Babylon. Many of the brands that rule the global fashion industry have relied on Babylon to manufacture

their products. Some of the prominent names include KOHLs, J C Penney, Tesco, Mothers Work, JONES, CHARMING SHOPPES Inc., Walmart, Sears, Inditex, HAGGAR, KMART, PVH, Arcadia Group PLC, Dimensions, New Look, CELIO, JULES, MONOPRIX, H & M (Hennes & Mauritz), ZARA and many more. With the growing number of renowned names to work with Babylon looks forward to explore new frontiers with the promise of quality and excellence

Quality Policy :
Babylon Group follows stern quality benchmarks to achieve flawless output. The group is equipped with man and machine to comply with the ever rising global standards. Some of the measures adopted in this regard are Use of fabric screening machines, color and shade matching equipment and metal detectors to ensure making perfect and safe products. Centralized research and development activity as part of continuous strive towards raising product quality and productivity, improving efficiency and cost reduction. Regular and rigorous training for every employee has been made mandatory for him/her to achieve acceptable level of performance. Separate training facilities in each factory unit to continuously enhance the skills and perfection of the workers.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO) :


The International Organization for Standardization is a world wide federation of national standards bodies from some 110 countries, one from each country. ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. The mission of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related activities in the world with a view to facilitating the international exchange of goods & services, & to developing co-operation in the sphere of intellectual, scientific, technological and economic activity. ISOs worked results in international agreements, which are published as International Standard.

Babylon Group is a full ISO Certified factory. It provides & maintains different facilities of ISO. Its management is responsible about their work & workers. It follows a quality system. Jessie Penny. This is the most critical system in quality control. Only a few companies can follow this system. But they dont review their contract. But they maintain it properly. Because contract review is costly. They have Design control, Document & data control, Purchasing, Customer supplied product, Product identification & traceability & Process control system. They have their own inspection & testing facility. They have internal quality audit facility. Training & servicing center. For all of these facilities BABYLON Group is now one of the leading companies in our country.

Compliance Facilities followed by BABYLON Group:


The factory has a doctor and a nurse, having four sick beds for workers. It has also a day care center with adequate space. The multi storied building has a big cafe for workers lunch. A dining room for executives lunch. Lockers are available for both male and female workers personal things safety. It has a fixed shop (no profit) for the greater benefit of its workers. Trained up the unskilled workers. Awareness for fire safety. Child labor is not allowed. Serve safety drinking water. Use musk if needed. Uniform used to the labor. Factory is net and clean. Use First aid box in every floor. Evacuation floor plan. Toilets are available in every floor for both male and female. Use Emergency EXIT indication. Fire alarm switch in every floor. Follow the local labor low.
