Trinity Church Kirkwood Open House

On Sunday, May 20, 2012 the Trinity Church-Kirkwood Congregation will officially open its new facility located at 1110 South Glenwood Lane in Kirkwood with two worship services scheduled for 8:30 am and 11:00 am. In anticipation of the opening worship services the congregation would also like to extend an invitation to the entire Kirkwood community and beyond to an Open House walkthrough of the facility from 2-5pm on Saturday, May 19. The Open House will feature music, free food and free tours of the now restored Osage Hills Elementary School. The Osage School served the Meramec Highlands community from its opening in 1938 until its annexation by Kirkwood in 1949, from which time it was an elementary school in the Kirkwood School District until its closing in approximately 1977. Shortly following the closing of the school the building was purchased by the St. Josephs Hospital and used as a day care facility until closing again in the late 1990s. In 2007 the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Trinity Church, which is one of many Churches in Kirkwood formed in 2006, first meeting at the Kirkwood Community Center. From 2007-2012 Trinity met on the campus of Westminster Christian Academy. The Congregation purchased the property from Mr. Dossman in January of 2010 and renovation, under the management of S.A.B.C., began in the Fall of 2011 and is scheduled for completion in the first week of May, 2012. About Trinity Church Kirkwood: Trinity is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) Trinity Church exists in order to nurture people toward a deep personal faith in Jesus Christ; to equip believers in every generation by faithfully proclaiming the Word of God; and to exhort its people to serve the Lord by actively ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, in all places, in every way possible. Our inspiration for this mission statement comes from 2nd Corinthians 4:5, which has become the theme verse for our church: For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants, for Jesus sake.

Trinity Church puts an emphasis on community. By community we are referring to a deep sense of belonging shared widely among all those involved in the local church. It is our belief that if people feel connected to a church community they are not only honoring God's desires for their lives, but they are investing themselves in Kingdom priorities. The fact is that people today are longing for a place of community and the church is one of the places left where someone can find a place of enduring community, that is, community that transcends life-station, school affiliation, work place or special interest group. God designed the church to be a part of our lives from the time of our first breath to the day of our last...and beyond!
