These dramatic shots come from the latest series by Singapore photographer Sazeli Jalal. Possibly best known for his work on previous Elohim campaigns.The origami inspired beauty series, features some rather dramatic paper eyebrows and delicate paper fingernails. Self-taught, Jalel is not the only one to be experimenting with paper. Recent years have seen a few paper based fashion/art fusions including the series by prop and accessory creator Fred Butlers AW11 Incandescent Meta-morph-incessant collection. The collection featured a stunning paint box colour palette. Beautifully captured by Elisha Smith Leverock. Butler is also behind the quirky Cut Out and Keepsakes make-your-own jewellery kit for the V&A shop!

Todays Issue-Recycling by Bulgarian jewellery designer Milko Boyarov features pieces crafted from recycled paper. With Berlin based photographer Federica Roncaldiers series ULTRATERRENA also showing stunning, paper couture. With it being intricately crafted and draped over icy, extra-terrestrial beings.

So keep an eye out for paper couture, because this fashion-art fusion is quickly becoming a trend!
