Dear Colleague
It is my pleasure to inform you that we are holding the 49th Annual Medical Symposium from 1st to 5th April 2012. As you are aware Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre was the pioneer medical institute of the country in 1963 to hold a medical symposium. Thus, it is our endeavor to continue the academic and research activity and keep the torch alight. We plan to kick off by holding a plenary session after the inauguration. This year the theme would be Every Life Counts which says no person can ever experience all that life has to offer. It is only through sharing - experiences, feelings, insights - that we can hope to grow beyond our finite lifetime. Are you ready to grow today? The symposia are going to be addressed by accomplished teachers of the country. The Chief Guest would inaugurate a Pharmaceutical Exhibition after the Inaugural Ceremony, which will be widely participated. The Pre-symposium Workshops on various subjects are going to be followed by specialty symposia. These sessions would be made interesting by including invited talks by eminent professionals in their field from the whole country. Along with the free paper sessions there would be poster presentations. The best papers would be chosen by a jury and the authors would be suitably honored. The delegates will be registered to ensure better organization. Abstracts would be made available on a CD. A copy of the symposium souvenir covering the activities in JPMC during the year would be included. Your best contribution and participation in this academic exercise along with our bit will go a long way to build this nation in a way that our founder of the nation envisaged and lent us his name to follow his dream. Myself and my team would be pleased to offer all possible assistance and queries.

ABSTRACTS (Instructions) The date and time of the presentation will be available in the detailed programme, when it is finalized. Please format the abstract as under: The presenting AUTHOR should be underlined. Main text should be subdivided as: Introduction, Material & Methods, Results, Conclusions (same methodology for the Poster presentation) Type of presentation: Paper / Poster For free paper and poster presentation, preference will be given to original study instead of case reports.

Please forward the abstract approximately 250 words via E-mail, including corresponding address and telephone/cell number to jpmcsymposium@hotmail.com OR Abstracts can be submitted at Symposium Secretariat through USB Flash or CD. No hard copy will be accepted. Abstracts should be submitted by 1st March 2012.
