Diaconate Ordination was held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church. Please continue to pray for the men who were ordained: Nick Brown, Christopher Lubeke and Steve Henriksen, and for other men to answer Gods call to the religious life. For more information, contact the Vocation Office at 502/636-0296. Religious Education for Children: Our sessions continue each Sunday as scheduled, beginning at 9:45 AM. Assistance Ministry Helps Abuse Victims: April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Did you know that outreach to victims of sexual abuse is one of the ministries in the Archdiocese? Dr. Tom Robbins, the archdiocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator in the Family Ministries Office provides victims with assistance towards healing. If now or at any time in the past someone representing the Church has sexually abused you, please contact Dr. Robbins at 502/6361044 or counseling@archlou.org. Paul Beach, Pastor, announced last week that he has been asked by Archbishop Kurtz to take a new assignment. Effective June 20, 2012, he will become the pastor of St. Martin of Tours in Louisville and will continue his work as Judicial Vicar in the Tribunal. Fr. Dale Cieslik has been named the new pastor of All Saints and St. Francis Xavier. Please read Fr. Pauls letter in the May issue of our Saints Alive newsletter. We ask your prayers for both Fr. Paul and Fr. Dale, and for an increase in priestly vocations, especially from our parish. Mass Schedule Change: Saturday evening Mass will be cancelled on Derby Day, 5/6/12, as in past years. Today, the Fourth Sunday of Easter: Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special celebration of World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The world-wide Church honors all Christian vocations. Christ Jesus gives His life for us that we might know fullness of life. We pray for openness to Gods call and to accept the gift of our Christian vocation. Christ Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is with us to guide and protect us on our life journey. A Prayer for Vocations card is included.
