ACT Tool Software Update

1 Launch ACT Tool

1 To lunch ACT tool, open the following folders from the Triage Desktop Update_Tools > PCD> Sprint Phone Connect> ACT_CR380_TX340G and double click the ACT_CR380.exe file.

After launching ACT tool, you shall see a main window as below.

Setup
For the Phone in USB Ports Power on Device Connect a phone to a PC using a USB cable Allow the PC to completely install the device drivers. Power off the device by switching POWER to OFF.

Before using ACT tool, you need to complete the following setup procedures first:

In the ACT Application insure the USB is selected by clicking on File> USB

CP Download
From ACT Tool, OpenFile> CP Download, a new window will be displayed. Using Browser button to choose the software (.ROM file) from the following location. C:\documents and settings\All Users\Desktop\Update_Tools\PCD \Sprint Phone Connect\Software ROM E04. At this moment, the download button should be at inactive state (it is grayed out).

Power on the device by switching POWER to ON and press Jump to Loader key, the Download button shall be at active , then press this button to start Download. When ACT starts downloading, ACT will present a continuous progress bar. 3 of 5

Wait until the download process is completed. The Window should state Load Complete in the lower left corner. Once complete users will need to press Jump to Loader then Cancel then the device can be unplugged.

Programming

Follow standard process for OTW programing of devices if this is the first time the device has been programed. Follow the below procedure for devices that have previously been programmed. 1. Ensure the Sprint Phone Connects battery has been installed and charged. 2. Ensure the landline handset has been connected appropriately. 3. Turn the Sprint Connect on. o If using a powered landline handset, turn it on also. 4. Pick up the handset. 5. Press **34000000# quickly without any pauses. o A dial tone will return if there is too much pause while entering the code. The code must be reentered. o The device will start the activation process. 6. Hang up and wait 5 minutes for Hands Free Activation to finish. o Important: It is imperative to wait the full 5 minutes before turning the device off (cited in the next step). Do not lift the handset to make a call. This can cause HFA become stuck. 7. Turn the Sprint Phone Connect off. o It is important to use the Sprint Phone Connects power switch to power cycle the device.

Do not simply unplug the unit from the wall as the battery will power the device and will not truly power cycle. Wait 10 seconds then turn it back on. o Device will then be ready for use. o
