Hi, Please read as below : A user status is always activated by the user and can be created in addition to the existing system status. You can activate any number of user statuses alongside the internally activated system statuses. To activate user statuses, you need to have created a status profile in Customizing for the relevant order type A status profile is created in Customizing for each order type. Within a status profile, you can -Define user statuses and document their function in long texts -Specify the expected sequence of user statuses by assigning a "status order number" to each user status -Define an initial status, which is automatically set when the object is created -Specify that a user status should automatically be deactivated, if a certain business transaction is carried out -Allow or forbid certain transactions, if a status is active.

Hi, As you mentioned there are 2 status can be maintained for documents like Equipment Master, Notification, Maintenance Order & other important business documents. In case, client feels that system status is not enough to capture the details of the object, then user status can be used. System statuses will be updated automatically based on business transactions which will be done on SAP. For example, once the equipment is created, System status would CRTD (Created). If you install the same to some superior equipment or FL, then status would be INST (Installed).

If you keeping that equipment in Spare, then for that, you have to maintain separate User Status like AVLB (Available in Stock / Spare) so that through IH08, by using User status, you can the report which is available as spare. These user status as per the name, should be updated by the user manually.

Hi , system status -- Based on the action you do to the transaction , then automatically system will assign the status to it . Like if you create a subsequent document w.r.t notification then the system status will be set as NOPR(Notification in process) and if you create any return order or credit note w.r.t notification then the system status will be set as SOAS (Sales order assigned)..like this system automatically update the status based on the action you do. These statuses will be updated automatically by the system and user have no control on these system status. to view the list of system status - BS22 User status - you can create your own status under one status profile in t.code bs02 and can assign to the relevant transaction . This status has to set manually in the transaction . For more information , please go thru the link

HI, User Status: A status set by the user to complement the system status for a given status object. You can use only a user status belonging to a status profile (defined in Customizing) and assigned to the relevant status object.

User statuses enable you to extend the control of business processes managed by the system status. You can set and delete user statuses manually when carrying out business transactions.
System Status: A status the SAP System sets internally as a part of general status management. This status tells the user that a certain business transaction was performed for an object. Priyanka Kedar Kulkarni

Hi Using User status management 1) We can control system status using user status. E.g. Once User status is set as "Completed" after order TECO, we can set that business transaction "Revoke Technical completion" can not be carried out (Forbidden) in this user status and changing this user status authorization can be managed to selected users 2) With number (Radio Button), and without number user status (Multiple selection). This can be configured as per business requirement. 3) we can control user status flow, authorization using Authorization code. 4) Customer specific statuses. can be managed in addition of system status. Hello Define User status in OK02. Define various statuses and number them. Then double click on each status n you will be taken to transaction control screen. Here click on create tab and then set the influencing statuses for each system status. However this will be individual for WBS and Network. Define them seperately for WBS and Network

Give Status number to the user status, eg., 10 - Start, 20 - Purchase, 30 Process, 40 - Finish...for status 40 give lowest as 30 and highest 40, so that once user status 40 is selected u cannot go back to either 10 or 20.....then if u want to set user status "Finish" automatically when system status is changed to TECO, then select 40-Finish and shift+f7, for business transaction "Technically complete" select radio button for Set.
