Project / Development and Quality Manager, Platform Group 2005 2009 Global leader in enterprise communications systems, providing unified communications, contact centers, and associated services, with more than 17,500 employees and $5,000,000,000 in annual revenues. Acquired Spectel, Inc. in 2004. Provided matrix management of Quality Process for Platform Group, including team of 400 staff and five products located in India, California, Colorado, and Ireland. Offered representation on group-wide R&D Quality Council determining objectives and procedures for group. Served as Development Project Manager Media Server and Site Manager for Administration and Policies. Relocated to Dublin to re-architect and project manage existing conferencing platform to SOA compliant common media server for all Avaya applications, which was projected to save $1,300,000 in 2009, with savings to increase in subsequent years. Defined components of a vendor Request for Response and determined final evaluation of vendor short list for media server hardware. Included web interface and Crystal Reports support. The project was delivered on-time, despite customer change requests in mid-development, by implementing an Agile process and automating testing of software. Innovative changes included 100% automation of builds, use of virtualization to reduce capital, reaching out to the customer for actual data to use for testing, and the sharing of personnel between two development groups to provide product training as well as new features. The team was awarded the 2009 Avaya Lab Cups award for company principles including time to market, innovation and process improvement. Project manager for Avaya video applications coordinating software releases from development and test groups in Australia, Dublin, and Denver as well as outside hardware vendor Polycom. Adjusted project plan to accommodate budget cuts by prioritizing features and dropping lowest priorities.
