GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF FIBERStone:

FIBERStone is a combination of high temperature ceramic materials and up to 45% specially alloyed stainless steel fibers. The combination of these materials is directly dependent upon the application of the composite. This product is supplied as a precast shape. Design and engineering of the individual parts take into consideration attachment, internal reinforcement and ease of installation. FIBERStone parts should be considered a high temperature refractory metal. It is very effective when applied as a replacement for metal parts that are destroyed by process heat. FIBERStone is also an ideal solution for a wide variety of molten metal contact applications.

FIBERStone APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

FIBERStone Competitive Fiber Product Plain Castable

Deflection, in. Fracture toughness is the measurement of the ability of a material (FIBERStone) to resist the growth F of a crack or flaw. The above chart compares the fracture toughness of FIBERStone with that of a conventionally reinforced castable (4%) and a castable with no stainless steel fiber. Point loading is applied to each specimen and loading comparison begins after first crack is detected. FIBERStone is a cost effective solution. FIBERStone replaces both cast iron and steel parts as well as refractory parts that fail due to: Thermal Shock Mechanical Impact High Temperature Stress and Poor Fracture Toughness Properties
