Hi LouiseI just gave my CMGA exam and I can tell you from my experience that CIMAstudy is enough for

you to have a good grasp on the subjects and to clear the exam. Even I had this doubt then I started thinking that I will give CIMAstudy a try and then purchase additional material if required. But I dint buy additional material as I found cimastudy quite useful.Apart from above I have below suggestions for you : 1. Refer all past exam questions and post exam guides. This will give you a fair understanding of questions that are being asked and what is expected of you. Under each paper (P2, F2, E2) you have the syllabus area wise past exam questions. Refer them as you finish each chapter. 2. 3. Use the CMGA past exam questions for your revision closer to the exam date. For me below were the most difficult areas for each paper :

a. In F2 consolidation of group accounts. I strongly suggest that after studying from your material; please refer the three series article written by Sally Baker. This will address most confusing part in consolidation that is consolidation for complex group structures and stepped acquisition. . I found consolidated cash flow in CIMAstudy little confusing. But the explanation give by Francis Braganza was very helpful. All these are available under F2 Study resources. (F2-studyresources/Useful-articles/) b. In P2, questions about learning curve and computation of learning curve in complex situations. Article written by Bill Brookfield is very useful to sharpen your understanding. You can find this under F2 Study resources. c. In E2, all most all the questions are descriptive. So it is very important to understand how much you should write. Please refer the post exam guides of previous exams for this. 4. Do remember that this is a paper based exam. Last paper based exam that I wrote was five years before for my final year MBA. I had a tough time in increasing my writing speed. Please practice. 5. Do not take it lightly there is so much study and the day before exam you will be at a loss if you do not revise well in advance. All the best. Some of you will be sitting the CMGA, CPGA and CGA exams this November. With such a big syllabus to cover, how can you increase your chances of passing? The answer is.... .... QUESTION PRACTICE!!! As you know, the Gateway exam syllabus for section A covers specific areas from the CIMA management level exams: Project Management from E2 (25 mark question) Group Financial Statements from F2 (25 mark question) Cost Planning and Analysis for Competitive Advantage from P2 (25 mark question) Ive listed the relevant questions from the 2010 syllabus management level exams below. You can download the papers and answers here, when you are logged into MyCIMA. Project Management: 25 mark questions May 2010 Q6 Nov 2010 Q7 Mar 2011 Q7 May 2011 Q6 Sep 2011 Q6 Cost Planning and Analysis for Competitive Advantage: 25 mark question: May 2011 Q6 10 mark questions: May 2010 Q1, Q2 Sept 2010 Q1, Q2, Q3, Q5

Nov 2010 Q2, Q3 Mar 2011 Q1, Q2, Q5 May 2011 Q2, Q3, Q5 Group Financial Statements: 25 mark questions: May 2010 Q6 Nov 2010 Q6 Mar 2011 Q6 May 2011 Q6 Dont forget about section B, which makes up the final 25% of the exam! This is made up of short questions from all other areas of the E2, F2 and P2 syllabus, so make sure you have a good knowledge of all the remaining syllabus areas and get some practice on 2, 3 and 4-mark sub-questions from the papers Ive listed above. Download the syllabus as a PDF. Of course, you can also practice using past Gateway papers, but Id advise you to save these to use as your mock exams over the final two weeks of revision, so you get used to the format of the paper. Past papers and answers can be downloaded here, when you are logged into MyCIMA. There are four past papers: May 2011, November and May 2010, and November 2009. Students studying the CGA and the CMGA should also use the May 2010/November 2009 CPGA papers as mock exams. There's lots to do over the next few weeks, but putting in the effort now will give you the best chance of getting through in November, and completing your CIMA professional qualification in 2012. Not sure how you'll find time for all of this? See my recent post on study planning! Below is the mapping I've done by comparing learning outcome against the online modules content. Can't see any way to attach a file here, so just cut and paste from the text. There is no automated way to get this from CIMAstudy, according to the response I got from the site admin. Can't guarantee that this is complete, but at least it's a starting point. Not that this should let us leave the rest of the syllabus untouched, given that Q4 is "everything else"... Agree with Fytos above, the on-line course is a joke. I'm just sticking to the revision kits and do as many questions as I can. Good luck with exam. F2 Syllabus area A - group financial statements
