Personal Edition Developer FastStart Guide....................................................... 13
Introduction
The Personal Edition V6.x of PegaRULES Processor Commander provides a learning environment for a single developer. This version of Process Commander is fully functional, but performance is limited by the speed and memory of your workstation. Rules and applications you develop with the Personal Edition can be moved to a full Process Commander system, version 6.x or later.
Apache Tomcat 6.0.29 To avoid conflicts with other instances of Tomcat you may have installed, Person Edition installs Tomcat using the following port numbers: HTTP: 9090 (Tomcat default: 8080) SSL: 9443 SHUTDOWN: 9005 AJP: 9009 (Tomcat default: 8443) (Tomcat default 8005) (Tomcat default: 8009)
Prerequisites
Confirm that your workstation meets the following prerequisites.
System Requirements
Your workstation has: an Intel-based dual-core processor with at least 4GB of free RAM running a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7 or Vista 20 GB of free disk space (After installation completes, the Personal Edition requires 15 GB of disk space.) Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher is installed Microsoft Visio 2003 or higher is installed.
Configuration Requirements
You must log-in to Windows with administrator privileges to run the Personal Edition installer. You must disable Microsoft Windows User Access Control. See Disable Windows User Access Control on page 6. You cannot have an existing DB2 installation on the workstation. If you already have IBM DB2 installed on your system, you cannot install Personal Edition. You must either remove your existing DB2 installation before installing Personal Edition, or install a full version of PRPC using your existing DB2 installation. (See the Process Commander Installation Guide for 6.x for details.) If you remove your existing DB2 installation to install Personal Edition, be sure to backup your existing data and delete the Windows DB Admin user created during the DB2 installation, db2admin. After installing Personal Edition, you can restore your data to the DB2 instance installed with Personal Edition.
Installation
