THE TRUE CHURCH OF GOD 70TH ANNIVERSARY The True Church of God started on the 18th day of January

in 1942 from a glorious outpour of the Holy Spirit at No. 88 Bola Street, Ebute Metta in Lagos Nigeria. The pioneer leadership of the Church by Late Apostle Smith Udia Umoh and his closefitting partner in the ministry, Late Apostle Godswill Ehiogu King, saw the church through the rugged spiritual terrain of Nigeria in particular and the world at large: the church experienced a tremendous growth and glory that made her outstanding and indispensible. To God be the glory! With Jesus joy in our hearts, we declare to the world that God is good to us for making His Church, The True Church of God, to reach the 70th year of her existence as a ministry this year, 2012. Regardless of our weaknesses and fluctuations, we would use this occasion of the Churchs 70th anniversary, which is epoch-making , to define our direction_to a higher and greater glory, (2Corinthians 3:18). Hence, the theme of this occasion is, From Glory to Greater Glory. The occasion of the 70th year of the church, in the words of the present General Overseer of the Church Apostle Dr. Emmanuel C. Jibuike, is not to brag or boast of the years of this Church and should not be talked about as if it is a crown. It is not a feeling of self-satisfaction; furthermore, it is not to focus or trumpet our religious perfection, and it is not to trumpet any achievements as an earning. Therefore, the word, celebration (which induces the carnal mindset of a ceremony), must either be used with great caution or be totally eschewed, preferring to use the word programme for this milestone occasion. The purpose of the programme, however, is to appreciate Gods faithfulness, mercies and blessings on the Church as an organization. We also thank god for the quality of leaders of the Church especially the G.O. Apostle Dr. E. C. Jibuike and D.G.O. Apostle Daniel Frank Umoh, helping them to stay faithful to her founding vision. We also thank God for the enlargement of the Church to other nations, and for keeping her as a Holy Spirit Church as it started in 1942 till this day. Furthermore, we will use this occasion to dedicate the Eastern Headquarters at

Mkpat Enin in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. Finally, the programme is TO LAUNCH THE CHURCH AFRESH FOR HIGHER SPIRITUAL ACHIEVEMENTS. Consequently, Organizing Committee has been setup and the members are working hard to see to the actualization of these dreams. The Programme which will gulp about N10, 000,000.00 (Ten million naira) according to the reports of the various task centres of the Organizing Committee, is expected to draw people from all walks of life within Nigeria and abroad. And the date for this programme will be 15th through 19th August, 2012 at the Eastern Headquarters in Mkpat Enin. We therefore enjoin all our teeming members, friends, well-wishers, Churches of Jesus Christ and Governments worldwide to be part of this glorious milestone and divine visitation in the True Church of God, and we also ask everyone to lend holistic support towards the successful hosting of this programme. In the book of Jeremiah chapter 29 verses 10-14, God says, after SEVENTY YEARS be accomplished
at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word towards you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. Hallelujah!
