FINAL SECTION A COMPULSORY 1. (a) Identify and describe the functionality of an emerging mobile technology with which you are familiar. [10 marks] (b) Critically evaluate the potential impact of the technology that you described in part (a) on an application area of your choice. [10 marks] (c) For the technology that you described in part (a), identify and discuss any possible technological, integration and deployment problems you can foresee. [20 marks]

2. a) What are the meanings of confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation and availability as security attributes? [10 marks] b) What are the meanings of authentication, authorisation and accounting as prevention mechanisms? [10 marks] c) WEP in 802.11 is vulnerable to collision, forgery, weak key and replay attacks. Discuss these attacks and comment on the specific security properties (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation and availability) that have been violated because of these attacks. Critically comment on specific measures or methods taken by 802.11i to deal with these attacks. [10 marks]
