Served as the pioneer in this product, and used it extensively to extract report data into excel, in order to balance the quarterly and annual reports. Saved weeks of work, every quarter. Forms Designer Artistically created the W2 form used for our 200+ companies W2s. Designed forms for Surplus bills. Researched and created MICR checks and direct deposit stubs required to interface with the banks. Scanned, adjusted and loaded the form with over 400 signatures and logos, keyed to print correct checks. Safeguarded signatures and kept the process well monitored for security. Checks were never returned from the bank as incorrect during my tenure. These new checks gave customers a more efficient way to pay their employees. They no longer had voids due to printing problems and forgery was no longer an issue. This saved the customers thousands of dollars. Designer and Implementer of Zip Sorted Mail Piece Zip coded products had to be sorted using the USPS Tables that had to be maintained to determine their allocation by tray. To do this, all addresses had to be cleansed and encoded with the Intelligent Bar code in order to produce the mail piece bar code. Zip coding also included the tray label for sortation destination, which had to be programmed and coded onto a cardboard tray label for the zip sorted trays. This process generated over 100,000 dollars a year in postage savings. Documentation Specialist Established program and system process documentation for most of the programs and jobs within the payroll system. Effort saved the company hundreds of man hours in the maintenance of the programs involved. Operating Responsibilities Was responsible for running: quarterly reports, SSN Verification, paper W2s and SSA submissions for 200+ customers. The paper W2s and SSA submissions were always run on time, and never returned as incomplete or incorrect. Created the interface necessary, with the SSA and New York State, to enable company to upload the year end files as well as the quarterly files. Ongoing Maintenance Responsibilities Spearheaded the Y2K conversion due to the Data General physically having a problem with the year 2000. Converted the COBOL programs over to HP Unix using Slickedit and learning everything about HP and its printer interfaces. Maintained a high level of security protection for our customers information to ensure HIPPA Compliance. Maintained the payroll process, including timesheet entry, checks, stubs and registers. Actively researched the USPS changes to ensure our product will print with the correct Intelligent Bar Code ensure mail pieces were still within specifications. Management of Development Projects Helped to design and implement entire payroll system's alphanumeric system to allow payroll history to go above 999 payrolls. Page 2
