What's hot in Speridian?

Speridian expands partnership with Victaulic with enhanced support
We are glad to expand our strategic IT partnership with our long-term client Victaulic, after a successful 2011. Thanks to the high-quality service we rendered during the last year (Kudos to the Offshore Support team -- Sivakumar, Abhishek, Sebastian, Neeraj Kumar and Vinay -- and the Onshore Enhancement team -- Rajesh George and Praveen Kumar), the client is happy to expand the relationship with us to cover these areas too: Offshore Support BI involvement Mobility solution

The role of the 2012 Offshore Support team, led by Venky (Shyam Varma has entered the team as well), has been expanded to include the following Siebel Administration Support tasks on a 24x7x365 basis: Administration Support for Siebel Production environment Onsite team support for enhancements and deployments during planned release cycles

The Offshore BI team lead, Jeevan Prakaash, is currently evaluating the Business Intelligence reports that have been deployed within the Siebel environment. Victaulic wants to understand the current analytics environment in order to improve or enhance it. We can look forward to further involvement in this area. Concurrent with these activities, we demonstrated the capabilities of our mobility solution to the key decision makers of Victaulic, in a bid to offer our Blackberry and iPad apps to their sales force. We started the production stabilization project for Victaulic's Siebel 7.8 during the Spring of 2008. Our strategic IT partnership with the client has been growing ever since, thanks to our excellent track record of coordinated services between our Offshore and Onshore teams, who ensure customer satisfaction 24x7x365.

I did my schooling at Vani Vidyalaya Matriculation School in Vellore. After completing my graduation from Priyadarshini Engineering College, Vaniyambadi, I started my career with CMC, Trivandrum, in the year 2004. In 2005, I joined Oracle Hyderabad and had been working there, until I joined Speridian last year. About your family My father is retired Bank Manager and my Mother is a homemaker. My elder sister is married. I am very lucky to have such loving parents and a caring sister. They have contributed a lot to help me reach this point in my life. What do you like the most about Speridian? What's different here when compared to your previous company? I like the work culture and atmosphere in Speridian, which encourages learning new things. The project I am working in currently gives me plenty of opportunities to improve my technical knowledge. Interacting with clients and responding to their queries is also new turf for me. What do you regard as the most significant achievement in your life? I would say that the trust I have built among my friends is my greatest achievement. Who has influenced you the most? Steve Jobs has influenced me the most. He is a great visionary, leader, and an innovator. He revolutionized the world around us with wonderful gadgets right from Mac with the first GUI OS and mouse, the animation industry with Pixar, the music industry with iPod, and the mobile industry with iPhone and ipad. I am happy to live in the same period in history as him. An unforgettable incident in your life? There are several the day I got my first job, my first salary, the day I bought the first cell phone for my mother with my

own salary the list goes on What is your philosophy for work? See every obstacle as an opportunity to learn. There is always a chance to improve ourselves. What do you value the most in a relationship? Understanding is very important in every relationship. Three things that you can't live without Family, friends, and of course, my laptop. If you could change something about yourself, what would it be, and why? I cannot drive too well. Nowadays, I am focusing on improving that hopefully soon! What are your hobbies and interests outside work? Listening to music, playing cricket, and watching the game. Your favorite dish that enhances your mood? My favorite is chicken at Nawabs 'n' Nizams, Hyderabad. I truly miss it. But any chicken dish goes down well with me. Your message to all? Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached. - Swami Vivekananda.

Cool Gizmos

Flash Dock attaches iPhone to DSLR, raises camera's IQ The Flash Dock from Pocket Demo is a DSLR hot shoe device that physically connects your iPhone (or other smartphone) to your DSLR camera, boosting the IQ of the latter by some margin. To what end? With the right apps, a smartphone can be paired with a DSLR for numerous purposes: picture sharing, geotagging photographs, vibration monitoring and sound recording among them. Perhaps most useful to dedicated photographers (and if you have a DSLR, there's a good chance this is you) are light meter and depth of field calculator apps.
"We first introduced the Flash-Dock at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in January 2012," says Pocket Demo founder Bruno Rousseau. "The response from visitors has far exceeded our initial expectations. Following this response, we have decided to launch the product worldwide." The Flash Dock is an enabling technology that at least purports to increase the usefulness of the library of photography apps already available at various app marketplaces. The smartphone can be reoriented in a variety of ways depending on the app in use at the time.
