Basic knowledge about the functions of different layers of OSI model.

Overview idea about data communication networks.

Basic knowledge of topologies, protocols. Introduction about IEEE standards employed in computer networking.

The architecture and logical connections in ATM and Frame relay.. Congestion control and traffic management in ATM and Frame Relay network. Techniques involved to support real-time traffic and congestion control. Different levels of quality of service (Q.S) to different applications. Different protocols for QOS support.
