The Minneapolis Saint Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership (GREATER MSP) is a private non-profit organization (501C3) dedicated to providing public and private sector leadership coordination and engagement to grow the economy of the 13 County Minneapolis Saint Paul region. With its economic development partners from throughout the region, GREATER MSP is advancing a coordinated, regional economic development strategy, a coordinated regional brand to promote the region's assets, and a coordinated regional business retention, expansion, and recruitment program to stimulate capital investment and job creation in the region. OBJECTIVE This position leads the strategy, research and analysis area of GREATER MSP, with the goal of providing, strategic direction, economic analysis, market and issues research in support of the initiatives and programs of GREATER MSP. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Works with the CEO and Stakeholders to develop and implement regional economic development strategies and deliver accurate and timely robust economic information to clients and stakeholders. Identifies creative solutions and provides timely analysis and objective research to stakeholders and decision makers, both internal and external to the organization. Identifies client research needs and allocates and provides resources for meeting those needs and overcoming obstacles; develops and manages staff of research professionals to provide client support. Develops and maintains relationships with various stakeholders and influencers, both inside and outside the region, to promote the GREATER MSP efforts. Leads and directs staff through effective planning, delegation, evaluation, training and development. Directs and coordinates all activities of department. Fosters effective collaboration between programs and functional departments to ensure an integrated approach to fulfilling the organizations goals and objectives. Establishes operational strategies for department by assembling resources; establishing policies and critical measurements; integrating systems, technology, and communication strategies; inaugurating and driving organizational change; analyzing results and trends; initiating corrective actions. Plans, creates and manages department budget. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives. Ensures proper execution of plans agreed upon by Executive team and/or Board. Provides staff support to commissions, committees and task forces where required.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND BOARD GOVERNANCE Coordinates the GREATER MSPs Partner Advisory Council (PAC) - a 50+ participant council comprised of regional economic development partners. Coordinates all aspects of the council as it pertains to development of the regional operating protocol, branding and marketing strategy and furthering an agenda of economic development improvement initiatives for the region. Assists the CEO and staff as necessary in the GREATER MSP roles of leadership, relationship building, communication and achievement of the GREATER MSP agenda. Attends Board and Committee meetings as appropriate. Serves as member of the GREATER MSP Executive team. Contributes to the efficiency of the organization by performing other duties and participating in special projects, as assigned. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Education: Post graduate degree or equivalent experience in applied economics, economic development, public administration, business administration, or law preferred. Knowledge: Familiarity with economic and community development issues, local government structure, and/or civic agency operations preferred. Experience: At least 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience in management, economics and policy analysis required. Seeking a seasoned professional with experience developing and implementing organizational strategies, while achieving stakeholder buy-in. Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, planning, problemsolving and project management skills. Excellent management and supervisory skills. Proficient in MS Office suite.
