IPSF Co-ordinator and Sub-committee positions 2012-13

Co-ordinators and Subcommittees work under the IPSF Executive Committee and their work is more specific to certain activities. These positions require little travelling, but it is strongly recommended to attend the IPSF World Congress 2013 in the Netherlands and that you attend your sub-committee meeting if one is programmed. You should be able to work on a daily basis throughout the year in your position and have regular internet access. Co-ordinator positions have different busy times or seasons, but you must be reachable throughout your entire term. If you are interested in a particular position listed here, you should contact the relevant IPSF Executive (contact below) before the deadline for applications. Public Health Co-ordinators IPSF has seven Public Health co-ordinator positions to be filled each year one for each of the official Public Health areas of IPSF. These are: Anti-counterfeit Drugs, Healthy Living and Diabetes, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Tuberculosis, Tobacco Alert, Humanitarian and Medicine Awareness Campaign Coordinator. The Public Health co-ordinators work under the direction of the Chairperson of Public Health to promote their determined area of Public Health and encourage and support IPSF members around the world to undertake successful Public Health campaigns. The period leading up to the dedicated Public Health day for each Public Health area is a particularly busy time for the co-ordinators. They will be required to help the Chairperson of Public Health to compile a special edition of the IPSF Newsletter to be sent to all Members, disseminate updated information on the Public Health topic and stimulate discussion between IPSF members within the IPSF e-groups. In addition to the specific Public Health day activities, the coordinators are expected to support IPSF Members year-round in organising Public Health campaigns and activities. The co-ordinators will also help the Chairperson of Public Health with organising the Public Health workshops to be run at the IPSF World Congress. In addition, IPSF also recruits other general sub-committee members to support the work of IPSF in the field of Public Health. Marketing Co-ordinator A position has been created to assist the Chairperson of Media and Publications on duties related to social media.Through this, you will be the main administrator of the Facebook, YouTube and Twitter accounts for IPSF. These social media tools should be fully utilized to promote IPSF as nearly all students are using these social media tools to maintain contact. You would be required to maintain close communication with the Chairperson of Media and Publications. The Chairperson will guide you through your work and your tasks pertaining to this portfolio. The Marketing Co-ordinator should have a solid understanding of all IPSF aspects, creativity skills, efficient organising skills and be fluent in written, spoken and comprehension of English. Sponsorship Co-ordinator The Sponsorship Co-ordinator will be assisting the Treasurer in fulfilling the Treasurers portfolio, namely: Liaising with the President and the Treasurer in obtaining appropriate sponsorship and funding for the Federation. Ensuring that sponsors are acknowledged in the manner agreed by liaison with the Chairperson of Publications and the President.

The Sponsorship Co-ordinator should have a solid understanding of all IPSF aspects, and be fluent in written, spoken and comprehension of English. It is advantageous to have past experience with sponsorship roles. Development Fund (DF) Co-ordinator and Development Fund Committee This position lies under the Treasurer and your task is to co-ordinate all functions of the IPSF Development Fund (DF). It is essential to understand the aims and objectives of the DF and the means by which these are achieved. You will be taking care of editing DF grant application forms and calls for applications, corresponding with applicants, reviewing DF grant applicants, chairing the DF Committee and the further development of the DF. You must have regular internet access available and be able to read and reply to your e-mails daily over the periods when the DF applications are submitted and reviewed. The Coordinator should preferably be from a developed and high-income country to prevent any conflict of interest with possible applicants. DF Committee needs three members that should come preferably from high income countries to prevent any conflict of interest with DF applicants. The main task of the members is to review grant applications for DF congress grants, SEP grant and other DF grants. In addition, committee members will assist in other relevant tasks too. You should have a regular internet connection for this position. Time commitment varies depending on the time of the year, the period between January and April is the busiest. Clinical Skills Events Coordinator (CSE) This position is under the Chairperson of Professional Development. Your tasks are to: Organise CSE at the IPSF World Congress and Regional Symposia Assist IPSF Members to organise their national and local PCE Further development of CSE concept in IPSF. You should also be able to travel to IPSF World Congress in Egypt, August 2012 while it is not necessary to attend Regional Symposia. In addition you should have a regular access to e-mails to be able to correspondence with World Congress and Regional Symposia Reception Committees and IPSF members. Patient Counselling Event (PCE) Co-ordinator This position is under the Chairperson of Professional Development. Your tasks are to: Organise PCE at the IPSF World Congress and Regional Symposia Assist IPSF Members to organise their national and local PCE Further development of PCE, and generally patient counselling concept in IPSF. Supervise in the development of the new PCE booklet

You should have experience in organising PCE by yourself and rather deep understanding of modern patient counselling. You should also be able to travel to IPSF World Congress in Egypt, August 2012 while it is not necessary to attend Regional Symposia. In addition you should have a regular access to e-mails to be able to correspondence with World Congress and Regional Symposia Reception Committees and IPSF members. Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign (PPAC) Co-ordinator The PPAC Coordinator will be assisting the Chairperson of Professional Development portfolio, namely: Liaising with IPSF member associations to help formulate ideas for IPSF Members PPAC campaigns including high school, future career and public awareness campaigns Formulate formal guidelines and/or materials on how to host a successful PPAC campaigns for Member organisations Collate news from various PPAC events across Member organisations and promote them through IPSF channels for other Members to engage in. Leaders In Training (LIT) Co-ordinator This position is under the portfolio of the Chairperson of Professional Development. Your tasks are to develop the Leaders In Training (LIT) programme, organise training before and during IPSF Congress, supervise the organising of training for IPSF Regional Events, provide support and advice to Members interested in conducting training, and to maintain the training e-group. You should be able to respond promptly to emails, have interest and experience in such leadership and empowerment programmes, and be proactive in exploring ideas for training. European Regional Co-ordinator This position is under the Chairperson of Internal Relations and the Chairperson of External Relations. The coordinators tasks are to: Communicate with students with this region and promote membership and participation in IPSF. Be part of IPSF Membership Promotion Committee (MPC), CPs, and VIP groups. Maintain stable communication with Contact Persons from the region. Explore potential collaborations with EPSA. Be available to travel within the region would also be helpful. Pharmacy Education Research Co-ordinator A new position has been created last year to help the Chairperson of Pharmacy Education to assist him with the Moving On projects and other research projects related to Pharmacy Education. The co-ordinator shall work with the Chairperson of Pharmacy Education in the planning, implementation and promotion of the Moving On projects. The duties of the Coordinator shall include maintaining the database of responses generated; promote the Moving On projects among all members, and following up with participating associations to ensure the implementation of the projects. Phuture Co-ordinator Phuture is the name of IPSF's educational supplement that is compiled by the Chairperson of Education and published each year. A new position has been created this year to help the Chairperson of Pharmacy Education to assist him with the compilation of the same. The duties of the Co-ordinator shall include editing and screening of the articles received for publication in Phuture, identifying authors and requesting them for articles on topics of interest, liaison with the Chairperson of Publications and designated members of the Editorial Board for designing, printing and publication of the magazine. Constitutional Working Party (CWP) The Constitutional Working Party assists the Secretary General in reviewing and editing the IPSF Official Documents. CWP members should be familiar in general with the Official Documents and they should also have a sufficient knowledge of English to be able to edit the Official Documents. It is also required that applicants for the CWP have a deep and thorough understanding and knowledge of the Federation. The working period of the CWP is usually in those months before the IPSF World Congress (from March to July). Design and Creativity Subcommittee (DCSC) The DCSC shall consist of three to five members who can assist with the creative and design aspects of the Publications portfolio. Successful applicants will be working with the Chairperson of Media and Publications and their main tasks will be to assist the Chairperson in designing and creating IPSF promotional materials such as poster, brochures, posters, banners, logos, templates, layouts and web graphics.

Applicants should have extensive experience in using common graphic design tools such as Photoshop. It is also advantageous to have access to as well as experience with using Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator. IPSF does not have licenses to any design software. Editorial Board The Editorial Board works under the Chairperson of Publications and its main tasks are to translate the News Bulletin or any other articles from English into the official IPSF languages (Arabic, French or Spanish). The board also proof-reads articles that are in English. The Editorial Board may occasionally need to help translate other documents or messages if necessary. The nature of the work is seasonal and the working peak is before the publication of the News Bulletin (January March). Approximately two or three translators per language (Arabic, French and Spanish) are needed and an additional four to five English proof-readers may be required. The Editorial Board members should be fluent in their working languages (and preferably ought to be native speakers). Professional Development Sub-Committee The PDSC is a brainstorming tank for all students interested, or who have past experience in the following areas in IPSF Professional Development projects at local/national level. Leaders In Training Patient Counselling Event Clinical Skills Event Pharmacy Profession Awareness Campaign Members of the PDSC will aid in the further development and direction of IPSFs goals in respect to these projects. Public Health Sub-Committee The PHSC is a brainstorming tank for all students interested, or who have past experience in the following areas in IPSF Public Health Campaigns at local/national level. Anti-Counterfeit Drugs Humanitarian Healthy Living and Diabetes HIV/AIDS Tuberculosis Tobacco

Members of the PHSC will aid in the further development and direction of IPSFs goals in respect to these projects and campaigns: Help facilitate better implementation of PH campaigns Making a collection of publications highlighting role of pharmacist in PH Campaigns include journal publications/ news articles et al Develop Fact Cards for diseases which are short and easy to translate Brainstorm to make PH campaigns more pharmacist oriented and easy to implement The number of positions is unspecified, as we encourage all those interested in Public Health affairs to join. Student Exchange Committee (SEC) The Student Exchange Committee (SEC) consists of ten members appointed by the IPSF General Assembly: five SEP Regional Coordinators and five ordinary members. SEC members have to be former Student Exchange Officers (SEOs). The main duty of this committee is to provide guidance and ensure the smooth and fair running of the IPSF Student Exchange Programme (SEP). As a SEC member you are required to be in constant communication with the Chairperson of Student Exchange and assist them with work in the following areas: Help IPSF member organisations, especially new organisations, in establishing or improving their exchange programmes in a scheme known as the Big Sister Project. Work on improving the SEP Domestic Rules and Training Manual for Student Exchange Officers. Create promotional and support materials for Student Exchange Officers. Oversee the Student Exchange Database and aid in resolving disciplinary issues arising in the programme. Decide together with the Chairperson of Student Exchange, Treasurer, DF Coordinator and DF Committee the DF SEP Grant recipients. Promote and investigate the implementation of SEP in IPSF Member associations who are not part of the project yet, as well as in all non-IPSF Member countries, as part of the Helping Hand Project. The Chairperson of Student Exchange and SEC members gather for a meeting once a year, where important issues pertaining to SEP are discussed. It is usually held after the second IPSF Executive meeting (usually March-April) but when and where it is held is up to the Chairperson and SEC members of the particular work year. SEC members are required to be contactable regularly via email and need to be able to respond promptly to messages. Hence good and regular email access is required. Membership Promotion Committee (MPC) The Membership Promotions Committee (MPC) consists of members whom take great interest in promoting IPSF to other non-membership associations around the world. MPC is lead by the Chairperson of Public Relations. It also consists of all the Regional Relations Officer of each Regional Office of IPSF. The main duties of this group would be to assist the Chairperson of Public Relations in promoting IPSF to non-membership associations and to discuss together better ways of promoting or extending IPSF membership to non-membership countries. Pharmacy Education Sub-Committee (PESC) PESC shall assist the Chairperson of Pharmacy Education, the Phuture Co-ordinator, and Moving On Co-ordinator with their duties. They shall be involved in planning and implementation of the Moving On projects and assist in the editing and screening of the Phuture magazine. The committee will also discuss and debate about IPSF Educational and Scientific Symposia, poster presentation competition which will be organised along with Regional Symposia and World Congress.
