INTRODUCTION
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is focusing on creating machines that can work like humans. AI plays a vital role in every field. Here we going to describe a brain controlled artificial leg which is designed to perform normal operation of a human leg It works based on human brain signals alone.

BRAIN WAVES
Beta 15-30 HZ
Awake ,Normal Consciousness

Alpha 9-14 HZ
Relaxed , calm , meditation

Theta 4-8 HZ
Deep relaxation

Delta 1-3 HZ
Deep ,Dreamless sleep

In our proposed system we use BETA and ALPHA waves for processing

BRAIN CONTROLLED INTERFACE

Brain controlled interface is a direct communication path between human brain and an external device It act as interface between brain and electrode

GENERAL BLOCK DIAGRAM OF THE SYSTEM

Electrode cap

Amplifier

Analog To Digital Converter

Signal Processing

Micro controller Unit

ELECTRODE CAP
Electrode caps contain electrodes which are placed on the skull in 10-20 arrangement The electrodes in the cap is to take the brain signals in the form of electrical signals

AMPLIFIER
The signal from the electrode cap will be in the range mV and V These signals are not be suitable for signal processing. Hence these signals are fed to the amplifier
Single electrode in the cap +v

Amplified Voltage Reference electrode -v

ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER

The output from the amplifier is analog in nature and it also have some unwanted signals. The unwanted signals are removed by using filters and fed into analog to digital converter The outcome is in the digital form which is suitable for processing in signal processor

Signal processor

The output from A/D converter is given to signal processor In signal processor three main operations done 1. Parameter extraction 2. Pattern classification 3. Pattern identification

MICROCONTROLLER UNIT
In the microcontroller memory the reference signal for different operations are preprogrammed Microcontroller performs the robotic operation with the help of a stepper motor It will do the operations like walking ,running etc depend upon the input given by the previous signal processing unit

Power supply
These artificial legs are powered by a Small Lithium ion battery which has to be charged once in 2 days Lithium battery have very high charge density and life time when compared to other

ADVANTAGES
COST effective (No need of sensors) User friendly Easy to implement and the idea can be extended for both leg Implanted to all irrespective of ages The chance error occurrence is less

CONCLUSION
our recent advancement in the technologies, brain controlled artificial leg can be made as a reality. With this system life can be made easier for the handicapped persons and they can also do their day-to-day activities normally without any difficulties.
