Room air conditioners Central air conditioning systems Heat pumps Evaporative coolers
Circulate cool air through a system of supply and return ducts. cooled air becomes warmer as it circulates through the home it flows back to the central air conditioner through return ducts and registers.

Types of Central AC
split-system outdoor metal cabinet contains condenser and compressor & expansion valve. indoor cabinet contains the evaporator.
Packaged the evaporator, condenser, and compressor are all located in one cabinet
5
Components Of Central AC
Components : components are assembled in a skid, known as the chiller package. compressor condenser expansion valve evaporator Distribution system : chilled water cooling water pumps. air handling units. ductwork.
Energy Consumption
Air conditioners are rated by
The
number of British Thermal Units (Btu) i.e heat they can remove per hour. Ton" which is 12,000 Btu per hour.
Energy Efficiency
For central air conditioners, Rating is the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). The SEER rating is an indication of how efficient an air conditioner is. Rating is based on how many Btu per hour are removed for each watt of power it draws.
SEER RATINGS
Central Air Conditioners require a SEER rating of 9.7 for single-package. 10.0 for split-systems. Commonly ranges between 13 and 20.
10
Advantages
better control of comfort conditions. higher energy efficiency & greater loadmanagement potential.
Disadvantages
More expensive to install.
11
ENVIRONMENT CONTROL
Centralised AC have full control over Temperature relative
