Such information can be collected through soil surveys, groundwater surveys, collection of hydrological data, primary surveys of farmer households etc. The information regarding marketing and storage facilities responsible are needed to assess the possibility of marketing and processing of the products.

Market Appraisal
The scope of the project in market or the beneficiaries, customer friendly process and preferences, future demand of the supply, effectiveness of the selling arrangement, latest information availability an all areas, government control measures, etc. The appraisal involves the assessment of the current market scenario, which enables the project to get adequate demand.
