An object A is said to be aligned to another object B, when object As major axis passes through or very near to object B. A is also said to be aligned with B when A is directly facing B. For example, when in prayer, the worshipper aligns his/her body to the deity or the object being worshipped, since he/she would be facing the deity.

B1 (not aligned with Police Car) B2 (closely aligned) B3 (perfectly aligned with car)
Major axis of Police car B1 is not aligned with A (police car) since As major axis deviates significantly from the line connecting A & B1 B2 is closely aligned with A since As major axis passes close to B2. The angle made by the line connecting A&B2 and the cars axis is very small. B3 is perfectly aligned with A since As major axis passes through B3. The line connecting A & B3 perfectly coincides with the cars axis

A great circle is defined as any circle drawn on a globe (or other sphere) with a center that includes the center of the globe. It is generally the shortest route aircrafts take to fly between two points on Earth. Muslims follow the great circle to align themselves with the Kaaba in Mecca for prayer. Google Earth can be used to find the Great Circle between any two locations on Earth

In Google Earth, you can use the Add Path button shown above to find the Great Circle Path between two locations on Earth. It will be the shortest path an airplane would take to travel between these two locations. The yellow arc shows the great circle path between New York & London

Sacred site

www.harismind.com | www.youtube.com/user/harismind | www.urbanyogi2012.blogspot.com

Goes exactly through the Intihuatana (Shiva Linga like structure) at another Inca Sun Temple at Pisac

And through the Sacred Valley to finally terminate at Mt. Kailash on the other side of the Earth

Starts at the Sun Temple (Coricancha) of Cusco

The alignment of the Inca Sun Temple at Cusco, is not possible to determine now since the original structure was completely destroyed by the Spanish invaders. On top of the ruins they built the Church of Santo Domingo. The stones of the original structure (described as one of immense beauty and wealth) still remain. They were cut with such precision that it is difficult with even todays high tech equipment.

The great circle path that connects the Temple of Sun at Machu Picchu to Kailash passes through Putukusi, a sacred mountain of the Incas. Putukusi is shaped like a giant Shiva Linga

The alignment of the Pyramids & Sphinx to Mount Kailash is not perfect but a few degrees off. However, it is interesting to note that both Pyramids and Kailash are latitudinally only 1 degree off and longitudinally almost exactly 50 degrees difference. Also, the Sphinx is facing in the general direction to Kailash
