About Pico Iyer


Pico Iyer is a British-born essayist and novelist, known worldwide as an insightful travel writer. He grew up as part of English, American, and Indian cultures, and therefore, becoming a travel writer was a natural progression. Most of his books have been about trying to see from within some society or way of life revolutionary Cuba, Sufism, Buddhist Kyoto but from the larger perspective an outsider can sometimes bring Some of his well-known books are Video Nights in Kathmandu, Falling off the Map, Tropical Classical, The Global Soul, The Open Road, Abandon, among other books. He is a regular essayist for Time, The New York Review of Books, Harpers, Financial Times, National Geographic, and TLS.
