What is LSMW?

The Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) is a tool recommended by SAP that you can use to transfer data once only or periodically from legacy systems into an R/3 System.

Why LSMW ?
Because no ABAP effort are required for the SAP data migration. However, effort are required to map the data into the structure according to the pre-determined format as specified by the pre-written ABAP upload program of the LSMW. This is very Important during the Implementation Project when Security people needs to create multiple users

Our Goal (From Security Perspective)

To Create multiple Test Users in one go. To Create multiple Test Roles To Add multiple Organizational Level values in multiple roles And many more.

Topic :- To Create multiple users

Execute LSMW Enter

Enter the required details

We need to create Project, Sub Project and Object by clicking on the Create icon and accordingly we need to fill in the required data. For Example : Project :- LSMW Description :- To Create Test Users Sub Project :- Test Sub Description :- Sub Project Object :- Test_Object Description :- Test Object

Goto Recordings to start the Recording Enter

Click on Create Recordings

Enter the Required data For Example :Recording LSMW1 Description To Create Test Users , Click on Enter

Enter the Transaction Name For Example Su01

Enter the required details in the respective fields.

For Example :User :- Test_Sec Last Name :- Test_Sec Password Role :- Enter the Role Name Save

Click on Save Click on Default All .

To download the file we need to click on List Save Local File(save the file)

Maintain Object Attributes Execute

Select the Batch Input Recording Option

Enter the Name of the Source Structure and description For Example Source Structure :- LSMW2 Description :- Test Users . Then Save and Back

Click Table Maintenance

Enter the :1. Field Name 2. Type 3. Length 4. Description

Maintain Field mapping and Conversion Rules Execute

Click on BName Source Field

Accordingly, select the Source Structure

Maintain Fixed Values,Translations,User Defined Routines(Skip)

File Name
Copy the required fields in a notepad and save the file in a .txt format.

Specify Files Execute

Double click on the Legacy data On the PC (Frontend)

Upload the File Change the Delimiter to tabulator

Assign Files Execute

Read Data Execute

Double click on any one of the row
