Language:

The images used show the reader who the article is about and in this case a band called My Chemical Romance (MCR). Some conventions of the double page spread are; a drop cap, stand first and the main title is a pull quote that is presented over the 2 pages to show that both pages are the same article as the title links both pages together. The colour scheme is red, white and black sticking to a 3 colour system therefore not making the page look confusing with lots of different colours. Representation: The magazine represents the band as interesting because the band is the main article in the magazine, also the band is represented as passionate because of the pictures the editor used showing them perform. The back and white editing creates an alluring effect on the reader because the writing is bright. The denotation is that some of the writing is red and the connotations of the colour red is passion and danger showing that the band is passionate and you can see that on the faces of some of the members in the pictures of them performing yet dangerous because they are rebellious with their long hair, tattoos and piercings.
