Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): Purpose: It is a document standard which when implemented acts as common interface between two or more computer applications in terms of understanding the document transmitted. It also refers specifically to a family of standards. Benefits: Exchange of information between teachers and students will be effective e.g. Assignments. Info sharing with suppliers, management and guardians as well. Helpful in standardizing different processes

3. Attendance Monitoring system: Current system : Manual system ( labor intensive and in-efficient), difficult to track attendance by managers, students can manipulate info.
Proposed system: An automated system, class

teachers take attendance in laptop computer ; the attendance records are synchronized with MIS.
Feasible for teachers attendance as well ( use of

biometric system).

5. Inventory Management System:


Purpose: To integrate an inventory management

system with MIS.


Benefits: To keep track of assets of the college. (e.g.

Computer and peripheral system, furniture, office


equipments, vehicle, power generation equipments etc).
Also important to put in place a periodic physical

verification system and updating data accordingly.

6. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system: A database application or software solution to improve relationship with customers and to acquire data from new customers. Benefits: maintaining relationship with current students, potential students and other stakeholders. Note: College can either purchase CRM or develop a new software.

7. Student Support System (SSS): Purpose: Keep track of students periodic performance and provide additional support to individual students if there is need.
Benefits: A detailed and accurate information is

available to mgmt team for planning purpose. Also useful for providing customized support to students.
