INTRODUCTION
Masjid Khairiyah Sri Gombak is located at Taman Sri Gombak, Batu Caves, Selangor Access audit exercise has been done starting from the entrance up to the main prayer area which at the ground floor level The spaces involved are incuding the entrance, ablution area, toilet and main prayer hall

CHILDREN

Definition: A human being below the age of 18 years unless under the law applicable to the child. Behavior :
Behavior patterns may often be explosive and unpredictable. Greatly excited by anything new. Children's way of thinking has obvious intuitive, they love imitation, lively, curious, like to play with the companions, has the rich body language. Specific image and lively environment tend to attract the attention of young children.

Good supply of energy, running, jumping and other large movements Curiosity is active

SPACE FOR CHILDREN


The first consideration when designing spaces for children should be safety. Secondly emphasizes the children's scale Finally, furniture and facilities should choose to comply with safety standards, use toxic, blunt and soft material.

UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR MOSQUE


The spatial characteristics of the Mosque of Prophet in Medina which reveals a prayer hall in a hypostyle model, one concludes that this scheme provides a suitable ambience for praying, through the sense of neutrality, non-procession, repose, and equilibrium it reveals, allowing every point in the space to be a center of equal significance. Universal design comes in how accessible the mosque is as a synergic space Multiuse of space
We must approach the mosque not as a building for a single set of ritual worship but more of a kind of social center.

EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT
ACCESS AUDIT : ENTRANCE NO 1 ELEMENT MAIN ENTRANCE ANALYSIS
1. Entrance of the building is easily accessible for disabled users. No doors blocking at the entrance. Gradient of the ramp at the main entrance is 1:6, it is too steep for wheel chair user. No Railing at the steps at the entrance. Landing at the stairs have a minimum distance of 1.5 meters No guiding block/warning tactile at both side of ramp area

1. No tactile guiding blocks provided at the main entrance and pathway surrounding as references for the vision impaired persons along the way to enter the mosque. 2. No warning blocks provided at the crucial area to indicate the obstruction. eg: Fencing and drop at main entrance, riser at the external ablution area 3. 1. Ramp gradient 1:6 at the first ramp width 1.4 m

1. Ramp should be 1:12, follow MS 1184 : 2002, refer to item 5.2.

2. No landing after ramp

2. Should allow for at least 1200mm length landing. Refer to MS 1184:2002, item 5.2.

1. Should provide signage for guidance. Pictogram with emboss signage type and braille text. Font size should be bigger for blind sight people. (Manual Audit-ms 076)

1.Door provided is too narrow for the to enter. Door Width : 0.8 m 2.Toilet provided not suitable to be used by the disable people because: no grab bar for disable there is big drop in the toilet the door is open inside to the toilet Drop height : 0.1 m 1. Provide OKU toilet follow the Malaysia Standard (Manual audit akses 1 malaysia-m/s 92)

to avoid having the drop in toilet as the drop will makes the disabled person more difficult in accessing the toilet
Reduce the sinks height (Manual audit akses 1 malaysiam/s 92)

CONCLUSION

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the design of Masjid Khairiyah does consider the disable person in certain areas, but most of the provision do not meet the standard required according to Malaysian Standard Some of the area does not consider the disable person at all However there are still rooms for improvement and measures can be taken to ensure the accessibility for the disable people Finally, this case study should be a good lesson to learn for every architects and future designers.
