Introduction

Google Glass is equivalent of a smartphone.

Development

The Glass project was started "about three years ago" by an engineer named Babak Parviz. Glass is being developed by Google X Lab. Google Glass displays information in a smartphone-like format hands- free. It can interact with the Internet via natural language voice commands and uses Google's Android operating system.

What is Google Glass?


Its a glass with a Smart Phone in it. Brings the internet world and real world together. It has a micro phone , camera and a screen Sort of Revolutionary new product made by Google.

Potential GPS chip within the device . The ability for the device to impair driving.

Advantages
Project glasses will act as a hands-free computer, so you wont need to break your country law while driving.

We can text and see the map while we are on our way.
Users already wearing glasses also be able to wear this. It performs almost all functions of a smartphone and it also runs on Android platform.

Useful technology for disabbled/handicapped people.


Fast access of maps, documents, videos, chats and much more. A new trend for fashion lovers together being an innovative technology.

A spectacle based computer to reside directly on your eyes rather than in your pouch or pocket.

Disadvantages

Can be easily broken or damaged. Privacy of people may breach with new glasses.

These glasses show the retrieved data in front of users eyes so it will be a tough experience for them since they will focus on that data and will eventually miss the surroundings that may lead to accidents while driving.

Further Research Required


The key findings of the research were: The quality of pictures and video are usable for healthcare education, reference, and remote consultation. Tele-consultation is possibledepending on the available bandwidthduring operative procedures. A stabillizer should be added to the video function to prevent choppy transmission when a surgeon looks to screens or colleagues. Battery life can be easily extended with the use of an external battery. A protocol or checklist displayed on the screen of Glass can be helpful during procedures.

Conclusion

It is hand free technology by Google .Google Glass is user friendly so that the features of Glass fullfill.The Google Glass is Fashionable and the frame colors is available in gray, orange, black, white, and light blue. Assistance to disabled individuals. Positive and a negative impact on society.Next generation of technology and hopes to one day replace cell phones.
