Who Preserves? Preservation Organizations


There are three levels of support for preserving historic places you will investigate the various levels National State Local Some hire professionals and others are composed of volunteers

Role of the State Historic Preservation Office


You will investigate several historic places in the National Register of Historic Places. You will also investigate the programs that assist in the preservation of historic places.

Importance: contributes to the states history & culture, and Survival of historic appearance

Processes of Preserving
You will work in teams to investigate historic places in Louisiana As a team you will select a historic place in Louisiana and design a proposal/presentation to defend why that place should be preserved You will also take a look at places in your community and determine if they could be classified as historic places
