Hattie (2009), Visible Learning For Teachers - Maximising Impact. Know Thy Impact - Teaching, Learning, Leading The nature of teaching We perceive our role as implementing curriculum, planning and delivering lessons, meeting the needs of students, etc.
We tend to say that students are successful because they try hard and put in effort.
What we don't tend to say is we have an impact on them and their learning!
When we are in classrooms, our fundamental role is to evaluate our impact.
Know Thy Impact - Teaching, Learning, Leading Just shut up and listen, expert tells teachers So ask the students!
Seek honest and confidential feedback.
Tell them why you are doing it! Affirmation... Some examples... Old tech - Correlation Chart (www.qla.com.au) Old tech - Parking Lot (www.qla.com.au) Topic: Creative Commons and copyright
On what can we improve
