SPIDERTRACKS AIRCRAFT TRACKING
| HOW IT WORKS
GPS coordinates received by spider device and transmitted at intervals
selected by operator.
Beamed to Iridium network of 66 orbiting satellites.
Translated into visual record of the journey, viewable in real time. Leaves a
bread crumb trail, laid over topographical maps, and permanent record of the
tracks.
Tracks and data accessed by multiple authorised users, anytime, from
anywhere in the world via the Internet.
SPIDERTRACKS | THE SYSTEM
Hardware - Rugged, simple, portable
300g spider suitable for all air and land
assets. No fitting, certification and no
external antenna.
Keypad Pilots can communicate basic
information to ops. base from the field.
(Keeping it simple!)
Communications via 99.999%
reliable servers. Data as secure as
banks.
The Software/Client Interface - web-
based, where you see your tracks and
data. No software to upload or upgrade.

SPIDERTRACKS | KEYPAD
Pilots can communicate up to four simple
messages via satellite to the operations
base, such as Ops Normal etc.
The monitor button enables pilot to tell
the system to actively track the flight.
Text and email alerts are generated by
the website if it loses contact with the
aircraft.
The alert button sends emergency texts
and emails in the event of an accident.
The radius button suspends transmission
of position points while working safely in
a set area.

| WHAT DO YOU GET
WHOS WATCHING OUT FOR YOU?
Airways does not follow aircraft on radar when a flight plan is filed.
Often aircraft are below radar or not in coverage.
Its up to you to take control.

Launching SPIDERWATCH the active tracking solution.

WHOS WATCHING OUT FOR YOU?
There were 82 aircraft crashes in NZ between 1999 and 2008 involving
injury or death (CAA and TAIC database).
Total aircraft carrying ELTs 73
Total number of successful ELT operation 10
ELT failure rate 86%

Of the 63 that failed to operate, 34 had clear reasons for failure:
Fire 11 32%
Aircraft sank 7 21%
Impact Damage 6 18%
Aerial damage 6 18%
Aircraft breakup midair 4 12%

Includes 121.5MHz beacons but 406s will fail for the same reasons.
WHOS WATCHING OUT FOR YOU?
With a flight plan, searches are initiated only after SARtime is
exceeded. This could be hours after the incident occurred.
Locating the aircraft is based on a guess-timate of where you
are. Your route often changes during flight.
The ERCEG Crash, 2005 took nine days and reputedly up to
$8million to find - $2.4million of tax payer dollars.
Had a ELT on board but the aerial broke so it did not transmit.
The search area was very large.
Not knowing where a lost aircraft is costly, wastes precious time
and worst, could be deadly.

THE SOLUTION
I AUTOMATIC ACTIVE TRACKING
Tracking systems are generally passive they record the
aircrafts tracks, provide location data.
Spidertracks pioneered active tracking in 2007 with its
monitoring function. Pilots can tell the system to watch over
their flight. If the system loses contact with the aircraft, SMS and
email alerts are automatically sent to pilots contacts.
Contacts take action to find the pilot and/or contact rescue
services.
Spiderwatch takes active tracking to a new level.

SPIDERWATCH
| ALWAYS MONITORING
Spiderwatch activates every flight, 24/7, worldwide.
Automatically turns on when aircraft accelerates through 40 knots.
GPS positions transmitted every 2 minutes.
When the pilot lands safely, presses monitor button to turn off
spiderwatch.
If spiderwatch loses contact with the spider, it sends text and email
alert messages to first tier of contacts.
If not cancelled by those contacts (they contact the pilot) within 15
minutes, the system sends the alerts to a second tier RCC.
The aircraft can be located immediately, based on its GPS
position.
Its 100% reliable, simple and safe.

SPIDERWATCH
I WHATS THE BIG DEAL?
Compared to ELTs sends out emergency alerts AND works
every time.
Spiderwatch alerts are generated when the accident happens
not when SARtime elapses, (some time later) saving precious
time.
Compared to flight plans your actual location is known better
than guessing where you are based on where you thought youd
be.
A revolution in the way you think about tracking systems.
A complementary safety and alerting system that also tracks.

With spidertxt and a Spider BT you can text anyone, anywhere in
the world via the Iridium satellite network.

Inexpensive communication via the Iridium network for pilots
operating in remote regions, outside cellphone cover.
Operations bases can manage aircraft, update jobs, and task
pilots, via messages from the website (or another cellphone) to
the pilots PDA.
Can send and receive texts to and from normal cellphones on
the ground.
Spidertxt currently available on a compatible Windows CE
mobile phone or PDA (Palm Treo etc).

BENEFITS TO FLIGHT SCHOOLS
| SPIDERTRACKS and SPIDERWATCH
Peace of mind Situational awareness and knowledge of where
aircraft and your student pilots are at all times.
Flight following Watch over student pilots as they go solo & cross-
country, in real-time. Make sure they are where they should be!
Navigation training - Use the track records as a debrief tool. Interrogate
speed, altitude and position with the student post-flight. Check plan
against actual flight.
Logistical/Management benefits Manage multiple aircraft from one
operations base.
Satellite communications Keypad and texting can be used to talk to
students in flight in remote areas without cellphone cover.
BENEFITS TO FLIGHT SCHOOLS
| SPIDERTRACKS and SPIDERWATCH
Safety Alerts will notify you in the of an incident, immediately. GPS
coordinates show where to look if something goes wrong. Ideal for
smaller flying schools and operators without full-times ops controllers.
Simplicity A simple, robust, light weight portable system. Can be
transferred between aircraft as required. Easy to install.
Reliability and the trusted one Proven in 30 countries. Watching over
150,000 flight hours a year.
Cost effective without compromise Inexpensive option to meet all
needs.
