JEWISH MUSEUM

Architect: DANIEL LIBESKIND

It was made to show the GermanJewish history, the sufferings of the
Jews during the holocaust, a tribute
to those who lost their loved ones
during the war.

The new Jewish Museum(by Daniel Libeskind)

stands next to the old Jewish museum. Nobody can
enter the new museum from outside, one has to
enter the new museum through an underground
passage from the old building. There is no visible
connection above the ground.

CIRCULATION:
The circulation is frustrating, the view from the staircase
gives a haunted house feel, the staircase is long and
narrow that retreats from the eye.
The spaces are linked in such a way that the building looks
linear internally. There is a continuity implying hope of
continuity of the Jews.

opper is related to the architectural history of

lloy of it using copper and zinc was made.
looks like a thunder/ lightening symbolizing the
mpact of WW2 and the holocaust.
