The TPRF31 Fast MiniRack is a 19 x 1HE fast-MiniRack housing 2 slots: it can therefore accommodate 2 of the
single-slots (7TE x 4HE) ION-B cards presented in the following. Thanks to its turnable brackets, the TPRF31 is
suitable both for wall and rack-mounting, and can therefore be used both as a stand-alone unit (for simple ION-B
installations) and as an integration of a bigger and more complex ION-B system.
DAS Architecture
The TPRN sub-rack is a 19x 4HE subrack with 12 slots, each one
sized 7TE x 4HE. As each ION-B module takes up one or two slots,
each Master Unit can host up to 12 modules, depending on the design
configuration and requirements.

Uplink (UL):
RF amplification: a low noise amplifier boosts the signal received from antennas
in order to maintain a good signal-to-noise ratio
RF filtering: the boosted signal is cleaned of the spurious emissions
Automatic Level Control (ALC): the RF signal level is adjusted according to
blocking requirements
RF-to-optical conversion of the signal, which is finally conveyed to the output
optical port

TeraSPEEDSinglemodeFiber
The CommScope TeraSPEED Solution was developed to provide a fiber optic solution that is the metro/campus
backbone for todays performance requirements. TeraSPEED cables provide the widest possible usable wavelength
spectrum by eliminating the high loss caused by water impurities. With this water peak eliminated, the entire spectrum
from is available, allowing for future expansion of data rates and additional services by the use of cost effective coarse
wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM).
CommScope channels comprised exclusively of TeraSPEED singlemode passive products, end-to-end,
are capable of delivering in accordance with application standards.
