S.M.W. Cortis is a company specializing in the design, manufacture, and retailing of classical
and garden furniture in solid timber. S.M.W. Cortis also produces and imports a range of
staircases for internal and external use. Further more parquet flooring and decking are also
available at S.M.W. Cortis.

Cortis Timber is a timber merchant and importer specializing in the import, distribution and
retailing of timber, sheet materials and related products for woodworking. Construction
equipment such as scaffolding, formwork beams, formwork panels and shuttering plywood
can also be found at our stores.

Precision Optical operates a chain of 6 optical dispensing outlets spread around the country.
Precision Optical has the exclusivity of supply of a number of designer eyewear brands.
Outlets offer the service of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Auto-refractor computers are
also installed in some outlets.

Vision Twenty/Twenty - operates as the supplying function for Precision Optical. It specialises
in the manufacture of optical lenses for eyewear.

Alcor is one of the youngest companies in CORTIS Group. Alcor specialises in the importation
of standard aluminium profiles, both hinged and sliding and in various standard colours. Alcor
makes use of a modern electronic scale for maximum accuracy.

Fieres and Lapsi are a property development companies specialising in the planning and
undertaking of construction projects. Both companies are involved in the buying of properties
in prime locations in the Maltese Islands. These sites are then built and developed into
commercial and residential properties, allowing their entry into the local property letting and
sale markets.

Calibre Industries, a contracting company specializing in the design, manufacture and

installation of architectural aluminium and glazing apertures, nowadays operates as a subsidiary of
the Cortis Group of Companies.
Calibre Industries is the leader in Architectural Aluminium and Glazing for industrial contracts
in Malta. Apart from conventional aperture work, the company also specializes in glass facading,
curtain walling, panelling, steel structures and other structural glazing undertakings. It also
specializes in the installation of automatic, intelligent and security apertures and in all-glass
assemblies.
A section of Calibre Industries manufactures and installs timber apertures. In addition to doors
and windows, the company also manufactures and installs traditional Maltese balconies.
At Calibre Industries, quality is verified by the fact that Calibre Industries is the first and only
contractor on the island with an ISO 9002 certificate.

entertainment centres, showrooms and other civil projects.
Calibre Industries Ltd. was also involved in projects in Libya. Calibre
Industries Ltd. was the sub-contractor for DS Construction Ltd. for villas
project in Sabrata. The work undertaken included aluminium windows with
pvc roller shutters installed in mahogany casements.
