Front

Front cover

My focus group immediately knew what genre of music my magazine was from the front
cover, all agreeing on alternative.

When asked does the image link to the genre, my focus group all agreed

My focus group also said the colour scheme does integrate with the main image, referring to
her outfit.

Also they said that that wording and anchorage work for the magazine.

Most said it appeals to them and they would read, while one said the magazine blends too
much (the writing colour contrasted to the background puts them off)

All claimed that the colour scheme of the front cover worked and they liked how it showed
the genre most and that it worked, was bold and distinctive.

Contents page

All agreed there is a clear grid of the layout and pleases the eye

They all said that the editorial helps with the context of the
magazine

Also, the order of the images do suit the layout and the lettering
was clear, but the page numbers could be bigger.

They said that the images do refer to the cover lines when
reading properly.

Double page spread

When asked if the image integrates, my focus group all agreed

that the image fits in well with the context of the magazine,
making reference to the headline and the image itself. They also
agreed it represents the genre well and they could tell from the
image alone it was alternative.

My focus group also said that the layout of the spread was very
well ordered and what most attracts them was the image and the
headlines claiming the headline and image integrate well
together.

Additional questions

When asked, my focus group said that the age range my

magazine would appeal mostly to was 16-20 year olds, which
was the group I was targeting,

They also said that it was for a middle class to upper working
class reader which is also my niche market for my magazine.

Overall, they said there was consistency throughout the

magazine, commenting on the colour scheme and effective
house style.

This makes me positive that my magazine will sell to the market

audience it is intended for.
