APPLIED SCIENCE UNIVERSITY

ACADEMIC BUILDING

The group project is to design an academic building for Applied Science


University after relocated to the new campus. The campus has been
established according to international standards comparable to
European and American Universities, and green building standards in an
attempt to contribute to the development of Tubli Bay.
The total built up area of the campus spreads over 24,000 sq m and is
designed to accommodate around 2100 students at the same time, to
reach a capacity of 6300 students distributed over mornings, evenings
and weekends, which is ideal for staff and students alike.
Dr Waheeb Al Khaja, the President of ASU said: The buildings conform
to international standards proposed by the Advisory Office in adopting
the design requirements of the Gulf, European and American
universities.

Statement of Objectives
The aim objective of this group project was to study the design
of the building and how the contractor plan it in property way,
also to study the material use and how its work with the
environment in Bahrain.
The specific objectives were:
To perform site analysis according to specific criteria.
To prepare the bill of quantities for the proposed academic
building
To prepare the plans for the academic building.
To analyze constraints.

Important of the study


The design of the academic building will effect the student
capacity by create building that accept more than 6000
student plus the other facilities that students need, it will :
Build green building
Improve indoor air quality
Optimize life-cycle economic performance
Create a flexible space for class rooms that can accept
deferent number of students

Can be from the design stage up to the

Our design will be base on avoid expected
health and safety risk.

Combating the risk and source.
Avoiding risk & evaluating risks, which
cannot be avoided.
Giving collective protective measures
priority over individual protective
measures
