Description :
NBAD is a commercial building that
consists of thirty-three floors, a
mezzanine floor, a ground floor and
three basements with a total height
of 202.00m. This tall structure
encompasses many unusual features,
which clearly manifest the modern
architectural concept. It was a real
challenge for our firm as the
structural engineer to produce a
design that keeps the integrity of the
architectural design. The primary
load bearing members in this
structure are: the floor slabs, the core
walls and the four main 2.0m
diameter columns.

IETC scope of work was to prepare the workshop

drawings for the Preheater structure, the Clinker Cooler
structure and the Tertiary Air Duct supports. A total of
about 2000 tons of structural steel, 60% of which is
ST52-3 manufactured in Romania. The job was
accomplished in 7 months starting June 2000. Over 2200
drawings and bill of materials were produced.
