Economic Environment City of Makati

Makati is the countrys premier business district. It has the largest
concentration of commercial activities in the Philippines, and the countrys
primary link to international finance and the global economy. The City has
2.75 million square meters of prime office space and accounts for 60% of
Metro Manilas prime office space inventory.
The number of establishments showed an increasing trend from 2007 to
2010; from 55,129 to 60,304.
For 2011, services comprised a majority of establishments, followed by
General Merchandise, and Real Estate. Manufacturing represents the lowest
number of business establishments, which can be attributed to the shifting
of manufacturing companies to other peripheral areas.
