Conclusion

Justification
Man has always been a patron of
beauty and novelty. Art evolved as
its result. Creativity is core of art.
Art involves creations that
influence people.
Architecture too has the same
purpose. Architecture lacking
beauty does not appeal to human
psyche. Thus in order for
architecture to be influential it
requires art, creativity.
Understanding relationship of art
and architecture can help us be
creative & create better examples
of architecture. Hence the topic.

Evolution
Since prehistoric times man
has been in search of novelties
to make his life easy and to satisfy his heart wishes and
fantasies. Man left trees and started living in dens. To pass
free time man invented dancing, singing, crafts. His fantasies
were presented in form of paintings in caves . The
phenomenon
of ART took roots. Today art has manifested itself into various
forms, a medium, for man to express himself.

Evolution

He learnt phenomenon of fire. Where his ow

strength failed him he invented tools, reare
beasts of burden. He formed settlements in
orderly manner. Different settlements estab
their distinguished cultures and deities. These cu
got reflected in the houses, palaces and temples
built. Construction of building was done by a prop
method. And thus phenomenon ARCHITECTURE
was developed.

Art

Art
Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging
symbolic elements in a way that influences and affects
the senses, emotions, and/or intellect. It encompasses
a diverse range of human activities, creations, and
modes of expression, including music, literature, film,
photography, sculpture, and paintings. The meaning
of art is explored in a branch of philosophy known as
aesthetics. Art is
used as a medium
to express ones
feelings and
emotions.

Natures own art

The source of inspiration for architecture
These principles of art can be understood by studying
the nature around us. The greatest examples of art are
found itself in nature around us. They are a great
source of inspiration and a guide for architects. The
nature has created everything with lot of care, planning
and proper engineering.
Everything in nature exhibits all
the principles of art.

The stem of plants twists

itself as it grows. This
provides the tender stem
with the strength it requires
to grow up in vertically. Also
every tree, plant have been
designed round in shape
which provides it a stability.

The nautiluss shell famous for its

proportion is home of the cephalopod.
Nautilus can completely withdraw into its
shell . The shell is pressure resistant,
imploding at a depth of about 800meters
(2,600 ft). The nautilus shell is composed
of 2 layers: a matte white outer layer,
and a striking white iridescent inner
layer. This provides camouflage.

Santiago Calatravas Chicago Spire is

based on the nautiluss shell. The 610
m high building has 150 floors and
1193 units in all.
Architecture that evolves from such
inspirations never seizes to amaze
everyone. The fact is obvious as the

Architecture

Architecture
Architecture is both the process and
product of planning, designing and
constructing form, space and
ambience that reflect functional,
technical, social, and aesthetic
considerations. It requires the creative
manipulation and coordination of
material, technology, light and
shadow.

Principles
Principally architecture and art are same.
Architecture follows the same principles for designing.

Designing
Architecture is art that can be used. Thus functionality
is important. So is the beauty. Beauty makes buildings
look alive. Just as art forms influence emotions,
architecture too induces moods into spaces. For

This is achieved by manipulating form, space,
colours, light etc. To create such effects
understanding of various forms, hues, lighting
and the effect they have is essential. Art helps
one to assimilate these aspects. Following are a
few examples which are product of exceptional
creativity.
