KISAN DIWAS SIGNIFICANCE

Jai Jawan, Jai kisan reminds us of the two important

entities soldier and a farmer. Farmers are the backbone of
the nation.
India celebrates its KISAN DIWAS in the memory of
Chaudhary Charan Singh,the ex-Prime Ministerwho was
primarily a farmer.
His brief stay at the top witnessed a swing in agricultural
reforms and policies being introduced in India, contributing
a lot to improve the situation of Indian farmers. KISAN
DIWAS is recognition of his valuable services rendered to
the farmers of India.

WHAT HAPPENS ON

KISAN

DIWAS

On this occasion, farmer seminars are organised at the

divisional, district and block levels.
Agricultural scientists and agriculture extension officers
provide latest information to the farmers in these
programmes.
The kisan seminars are held at agriculture science centres
and various agriculture knowledge centres in the state.
The district rural development agencies organise
exhibitions, fairs and seminars on various aspects of
agriculture and rural development.
The farmers are also told about agriculture insurance
schemes and other financial aids provided by the
government.
