TG8000 Test Signal Generator

Robust Reference Signal Generation

Stay GenLock for AGL7 and GPS7 modules
Frequency and phase information from the genlock input signal is used to
tune the internal system oscillator
If the reference input is temporarily lost, the TG8000 switches to the
internal reference clock, but frequency and phase are maintained
When the reference input returns, the TG8000 slowly adjusts the clock to
account for any accumulated difference due to clock drift

GPS holdover and recovery

Similarly, the GPS7 module can withstand the loss of the GPS RF signal
for an extended duration
Upon recovery, the phase is adjusted by changing the clock frequency,
but within legal limits (approx. 2.8 ppm per SMPTE 170M)

The result is that downstream equipment locked to the TG8000s reference

outputs experience no synchronization shock
